LOL :)) :))

okieclem

Ooo, ooo! I just saw something... it's Oclu Flour, an off-brand baking product at Aldi's!

niccolino59

LOL racoonstar & msbonne!! How true!

Surreal_Heidi

A straightforward, non fibbing, honest and reliable politician will never be elected. First, because there's no such animal, and second, because stupid people like being lied to. They don't want to hear the truth.

msbonne

That is when we will KNOW the end is nigh.

manicpuzzler

One of these days we are all going to get a shock when a straightforward, non fibbing, honest and reliable politician is elected. I am not holding my breath!

jals

racoonstar, you are correct. They all lie. It is a case of picking the lesser evil and we're never sure just which one that is. Can't believe the news either.

msbonne

Sounds like a sure thing then.

manicpuzzler

You are correct PW :)

ParsonWayne

Then it is time to farce the facts that by October 31st Britain will definitely either by out of the EU or still in it, if I understand the news.

manicpuzzler

꒰•‿•꒱꒰•‿•꒱꒰•‿•꒱LOL so true꒰•‿•꒱꒰•‿•꒱꒰•‿•꒱

racoonstar

@manicpuzzler - on this side of the pond we have come up with a simple, and 100% effective way to determine if a politician is lying.

Just watch the politician closely.

If their lips are moving and sounds are issuing from their mouthes then they are lying.

manicpuzzler

Unfortunately true!

msbonne

So you vote for the best liar. It is the way of the world.

manicpuzzler

LOL :))
It has been a mess from the start. We were lied to (by both sides of the argument) and then asked to vote! Nothing new there then!!!

msbonne

Brexit is a farce (to be reckoned with).

manicpuzzler

LOL you lot :))

LOL PW, Brexit is not being dealt with. It's a farce!!

ParsonWayne

I hate to bother them right now as they are dealing with something called Brexit.

racoonstar

Ask the Brits, as it appears it originated with them.
Something about their being so much contact between the UK and the US, and reducing the ocean distance to a pond.

ParsonWayne

I am curious as to when we started calling the Atlantic Ocean a pond. I think of it more as a lake that is Superior to ANY of the Great Lakes in the United States and Canada. It gives me an Erie feeling to say that. @joyfulli

racoonstar

Yes, we are a colourful lot, or colorful lot for those on this side of the pond.

manicpuzzler

꒰•‿•꒱꒰•‿•꒱꒰•‿•꒱LOL꒰•‿•꒱꒰•‿•꒱꒰•‿•꒱

nanab

Yes!

msbonne

We may not be neat and tidy, but we've got heart.

manicpuzzler

Have just a few 'A's' been hacked off the alp_bet or _ll of them? Nited sttes of Meri doesn't look very tidy!

msbonne

Merica says that is fine.

manicpuzzler

꒰•‿•꒱꒰•‿•꒱꒰•‿•꒱LOL꒰•‿•꒱꒰•‿•꒱꒰•‿•꒱

Ban the 'U'! Nited States of America - looks fine to me!

From Uncle Dick - Nited (nominative plural niteds) meaning interest or attention

msbonne

I must protesteth the spelling.

As I have made perfectly clear, this is NOT properly spelled. Not only that, but because of the improper spelling, more space is needed on sheets of paper, more ink is used. This practice MUST stop. Our poor planet is suffering the consequences. Climate change is caused by spelling.

manicpuzzler

And the answer is …………… Colourful :))

msbonne

It's ok racoon, story of my life.

manicpuzzler

LOL you lot :))

LOL John, you won't be purchasing any of the 'ensembles' for family members anytime soon then?

Yep, two ways to it. Even so, it was easy.

racoonstar

@msbonne - my apologies, but that would not be possible.

Surreal_Heidi

Got it!

msbonne

Relocate? That could take years and cost thousands of lives.

Can't you just send the help to me?

racoonstar

@msbonne - the "help" I envision would require your relocation to a place where you'd have plenty of time to work on your "projects".

SPaceDinVADerOne

well that was easy :o)

I have seen your "fashion" puzzles lately ... was kinda hoping they would improve with my absence. alas it is not to be, they are still "head scratching" horrid :oD lol

msbonne

Ok then.

jals

LOL
I could use some of that help too!
Not a problem. My family members keep their distance. I will be very careful with it. This past year i borrowed a book from a friend in book club and I made a cover for it out of a sack so I wouldn't damage the book or the dust cover.

msbonne

I can lend it out, but it IS extremely valuable (published in 104 BC don't you know). jals gets it first, then jyl. Please treat it better than you would a family member.

racoon, I always have projects to get done. If you WOULD please send me some professional help, it would be greatly appreciated.

jals

Jyl,
You'll have to clear it with msb, first. I don't loan other people's books out without getting their permission, but yes, I think it will be very enlightening. lol

racoonstar

I think msbonne has gone completely off his or her rocker, and has finally proved s/he needs professional help.

Mariposamia

Not American spelling, but I got it!

jyl

@jals , may I borrow the copy @msbonne sends to you? Sounds like interesting fiction, likely to give us a laugh or three.

jals

That is true, Jyl.

jals

Sloth,
I don't have that much money, can I just borrow your copy?

msbonne

I hate to be the one to inform you jyl, but I would not be doing my duty as a fellow passenger on this planet if I did not.

Merican was the first language every spoken on this planet (history tells us so). Then the British with their whole bloody mess of crumpets and tea. Then some French, Asian, and other Euro Languages got thrown into the mix, just trying to confuse things.

It is not an advantage, it is kind of a diluted language.

As I am sure you learned in school, Merica was the first country inhabited by civilized peoples. We then slowly went about and discovered the rest of the world.

Oh, sure, the made up the stories about Columbus, and this country running away from Mother Britain, but in fact, when the first Martians landed, they did so in Nebraska.

All living beings came from that initial contact.

Nebraska, the cradle of civilization.

(I copied all the facts from the First Book Of TRUE History. You can view copies of it in the Smithsonian Museum of Literary Art).

Copies are available in extremely limited quantity at Amazon. $250,000 / copy. I can get you a discount of $50,000, if you would like me to order you one.

The book is a fascinating read, and really strikes home on all the fake history that is out there.

Merica, we know our stuff (and our stuffing, but primarily on Thanksgiving).

jyl

@jals it seems to me that you have an advantage just like Canadians, both spellings are correct (somewhere), so use whichever spelling comes to you first and don't fret. If someone calls you on what they think is an error you can explain that both spellings are correct. :-))

jals

Actually when I was very young, we learned the old English spelling of most words and for a long time after they took the u out of words, I struggled to remember which way to spell it. Theater/theatre is another one. I still find myself writing Saviour, instead of Savior. Old habits die hard.

:)))

jyl

Sorry, @msbonne, Merican may be your "proper" way to spell when you live where you do (below the border). However Canadians often have to learn both the original (British) and yours (Merican), so we have the advantage.
@sbwilner and I are among those who share this quiet advantage over most other solvers. ;o)

racoonstar

I know. :)

Just like beautiful puzzle,

ladywil2

I think I got it.

Bubble

No problem with this one (❀ᴗ❀)

msbonne

Fully Universal Category (FUC)

Merican is the only PROPER way to spell anything.

okieclem

Got it! Although the first letters that registered in my morning brain were F-U-C... and I was wondering where this was going -- ha, ha!

ringleader

English spelling, not American. Got it anyway Bonnie. ☺

manicpuzzler

 ⁰⁀⁰*ʕ๑‿๑ʔ*⁰⁀⁰*ʕ๑‿๑ʔ*⁰⁀⁰

PenSet

Got it fast, but good thing I married an Australian!

manicpuzzler

Or the well known Italian cooking ingredient Flourulco. I am sure Bob is familiar!

msbonne

Even though I do NOT spell the wrong way (nor drive on the wrong side of the road), this was easy.

Ruofloclu. I difficult to find clue (In France).

manicpuzzler

YAY Bob :))

Hismorts

Wow. That was quick. The first word I tried!!

manicpuzzler

Well done, in advance everyone :))

jals

Got it.

Jumble

Got it.

nanab

Got it.

manicpuzzler

Morning Sherry! This was a 'leaper' for me too :))

Oops PW! :))

some people are going to have trouble with this one because of changes in spelling rules over the years...I am a Canadian so I got it right away...and, look, I have solved a puzzle with a 0 at the beginning of the timing score...how cool is that...certainly doesn't happen for me very much...great way to start the day...thank you! ... Sherry :)))

Random Thought:

A preacher gave the following announcement, “Don’t forget the potluck dinner after the service. My wife, Marilyn, is bringing her home-baked breads. I just LOVE her buns.”

Why this advertisement?
