PLG & Janet: The picture is taken from atop a stone outcropping similar to the ones seen in the picture.

Thanks, PLG. Wide open spaces in the American West.

jignjw: Hite's Crossing is a area where the Colorado River and the Dirty Devil River could be crossed. It also marks the very upper end of Lake Powell. The crossing now has a bridge (in the picture) or bridges to cross the two streams. Hite's Crossing is accessible from Hwy. 95 between Natural Bridges National Monument and Hanksville, Utah.

OK, couldn't wait--googled and found the bridge at the north end of Lake Powell....just where I thought it was. However for decades I haven't been able to remember the name of the place that had a dirt landing strip in the early 1970's. Whew!! What a relief that I can let that unanswered question go away. :-))

Hi Rettch, I always admire your photos and thanks for all your puzzles! This one has me puzzled, though....I know the name 'Hite's Crossing' but I can't place the location. Can you please enlighten me? Thanks!
