I have seen these aircraft, and they are fabulous, and I was able to get inside two of them.
I waited in the hot sun of Arizona, and it was well worth the wait.

These are Collings Foundation Aircraft. They tour the country. Look up their website and find a location nearby. I highly recommend you see them as they are a few of the last flying aircraft from WW 2

There's a story about an infantryman who was back in England, and he was ragging some airmen about how they were wimps complaining about the dangers of flying over Europe. You guys ain't seen nuthin' flying up there high above all the fighting. You want danger, you join the ground pounders, getting shot at and mortared every day, etc. So they took him along on a bombing mission, flying straight and level through the highly accurate German anti-aircraft fire. When they got back he was shaking like a leaf, leaped out onto the ground and when they invited him to go again he said, "Are you kidding? They don't pay me NEARLY enough to go do that again!"
