@bevpuzzler8. O Dear, what a mess. I got the sun to set that comical sketch of Trumph dancing to the tune of a loyalist band, which he extracted from my phone to the PC and said that was it done and go ahead just put it in as an attachment. It clearly wasn't—sorry about that—completely unintentional.
@bevpuzzler8: yesterday I send you a tag from a map of South America in order you can see where is my country and I wrote about his geography.I thought you could be interested in it because we´ve talked about Chile many times.Did you see that post? María.
Bev and Irish, Glad you have it all straightened out. And glad you're on the mend, Bev. I had shingles about 25 years ago--but caught it early and it was a mild case. Got the shots about 5 years ago when borrowed grandkids arrived. Good investment.
@Irishrover. I meant Ivorjohnson, I knew it by heart and even now I want to punch in ivor instead of Irish. You know that was a good name you picked for me The Hoosier Brawler. Not bad from a friend in Ireland. Here goes this is my email agnu1900@att.net email me if you care to.
@Irishrover What are you saying. They just changed your name, at your request, your pictures should not have changed they just stay the same. Were you trying to hide?
I am bac and I have improved..However sometime the nerve endings come back to haunt me, but, what the hell, I am alive and kicking. What's with the unused soap...what does that mean? @ivorjohnson. 9-28-25
@ivorjohnson Well if it isn't my craic. I thought you were away picking tomatoes again. You did pick tomatoes with your brother. Yes, I am getting back in the groove. Thank you for your wishes. 😃9-26-24
@Bikerkath Hi Kath...I have used the Blue Emu and it has brought me relief. Not entirely but a heck of alot better than a few days ago. Thank you for the heads up. My daughter bought a 4oz. jar and the cost was 13. 25 and at CVS pharmacy they wanted 18 plus dollars so I figure I save a few bucks. Hugs. 9-25-24
I was told by friends that have had or knew someone that had and some suffered a great deal and in order to get the two shots it cost around 2 hundred dollars back in the day. @Bikerkath
@Bikerkath Thank you I will look into it. I got Capsassin it is hot salve and was supposed to counter act the burn I like to jump out of my skin. It was awful and I threw it in the trash.
@bevpuzzler8 - perhaps a helpful tip; just found this conversation & I had a friend who traveled the world, 86 now, got shingles while in Amsterdam 3 yrs ago, had to hospitalized there for weeks. The blessing he said, was Blue Emu cream. He had it EVERYwhere & this balm saved him. Yes, you should have gotten the shot. we are never immune. I had both sets, old then new. Feel better fast, dear... Try the Blue Emu; worked for Phil, he sings it's praises He was in a World of hurt. I hope it helps you & if a repeat from another/ better than not at all! BK
Still intrigued by it all. I checked Google Earth and never thought there would be so much sand from fresh water in Gary. We have the largest freshwater lough in the British Isles but no sand. The Port looks as if it has been all done up and also was the home of a certain singer called Michael Jackson. I wonder if the drunks sing Gary Me Home at closing time; you are a garyon Bev, so garyon is getting well.
I'm reading a book about a man and his sister driving thousands of miles in a truck, delivering and collecting foodstuffs or other cargo. The young girl got very bored as she only ever saw Pit stops, so her brother started to entertain her by doing something unique. If you replace the first letter of two names, you can come up with some silly nonsense, e.g., pevbuzzler or kikerbath. I know, I know. At least it is gone now. bevpuzzler8 @Bikerkath
We have had a Tanzer 7.5 (sailboat) for 40 years. They were designed to be used on Lake Superior. After all this time, the boat still has lessons to teach us about rough weather (mainly not to venture out in it lol) Used to get the class newsletter; owners would describe improvements they'd made on their boats. A LOT of them put great priority on cabinets to keep their bottles of Scotch safe!
US Steel sold for over $14 billion to Nippon Steel In a deal exceeding $14 billion, Nippon Steel has acquired US Steel, including the historic Gary Works located in Gary, Indiana, which stands as one of the oldest employers in the region.
GARY, Ind. - U.S. Steel, the Pittsburgh steel producer that played a key role in the nation's industrialization, is being acquired by Nippon Steel in an all-cash deal valued at approximately $14.1 billion.
The transaction is worth about $14.9 billion when including the assumption of debt. The combined company will be among the top three steel-producing companies in the world, according to 2022 figures from the World Steel Association.
@ivorjohnson Used to be my neck of the woods. When young went to a few different beaches in Gary. It is about 6 to 8 miles away. Another Steel Mill town gone to the dogs. What's happening in your neck of the woods? What I hear on my radio doesn't sound good. I sleep with a transistor radio, due to the fact I have Tinnitus and radio sometimes helps to mask the hissing ...supposedly something in the brain causes this problem.------------------------------9-23-24
@ivorjohnson Thank you from my heart, that you are wondering about me. Yes, my days are looking brighter. That is so great to spend a Saturday with friends and make recall of days gone by. Lake Superior of the five Great lakes is the coldest and the deepest . I am glad that I brought Gordon Lightfoot to light. He was great! Hugs. 9-22-24
@bevpuzzler8: Glad to read that you are feeling better.I send you a tag of a happy woman playing with butterflies, including white ones.I know that you will enjoy it María.
@ivorjohnsonThe Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald music video Ivor, poke this into your browser. GordonLightfoot sings about this ship lost on the GreatLake. 9-18-24
Sorry to hear about your shingles, Bev. My husband (also above 80) had it a couple of years ago - and he also got to the doctor too late. So nothing to do but to suffer through it - but it wasn't funny (for him). I could only say: "Oh, poor dear"! I can say the same to you. :-) But I do hope you'll have a speedy recovery. All the best Else
@ivorjohnson When my folks migrated to America. Chicago, illinois was their destination. They did not meet in Europe they met here at my Aunt and Uncles house. My aunt had weekend parties and get togethers. My uncle was instrumental in sponsoring many that came from the island of Krk, Croatia. My aunt was my mom's sister. When they married in Chicago, they moved to Indiana because my dad found a job with Iland Steel Company and it was located in Indiana Harbor, Ind.
Oh Bev, I am so sorry, I know from when mum had it years ago how awful it was and no preventative meds. then. She had it around her waist and had to cope with it. The trouble is the nerve endings are affected so much, I don't know if the cold pack would help numbing the area for a while but you could try.
Because of mum, Harvey and I both shelled out for shingles vaccines a few years ago and had a booster last year. Effective for up to 7 years. It was worth paying for it.
You will gradually feel better but it will take a while. I know you will be able to cope with it until it disappears. I will not hug you as you're so sore but pretend to. 💖
Bev I can fully understand the shock you had - I wish the posts had been the other way around. It has been a terrible couple of years with so many friends lost to us. We will remember them all and keep together. *:・゚✧*:・゚
I found this on a puzzle and you had already posted when his wife posted later Juba1010 found it and tagged me. I was so beside myself and did not know which way to turn.
rswestley You are following this user Unfollow This is the invisible man's wife, Robby. Tim, who's real name was John, has passed away. Before he died, he asked me to reach out to those of you on Jigidi. He considered you friends, and he really enjoyed those of you he interacted with. I don't know exactly who you were, so feel free to reach out to me at rswestley@aol.com if you would like to. John lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He had been sick for two years. He left this earth on July 13, 2024. He was not invisible to those of us who loved him dearly. Thank you to all who made his days a little brighter.
I'm ok Bev, thanks for asking. Pushing through and will get there I hope eventually. Didn't know about Phil, he was one of the better show hosts and seemed more genuine. I always like to look at the photos of your beautiful daughters. Take care Bev. 🖐😍
@Bubble I did see the commentary, he was a handsome man. Also, Phil Donahue passed, he was married to Marlo Thomas and her dad Danny, was instrumental in building St. Jude Hospital. How are you doing? It is a nice cool day here and sunshine. Hugs. 8-19-24
Thanks for asking Bev.I´m Ok and I hope you too.It seems that we have not coincided in pzl comments.I saw you yesterday commenting about Torres del Paine.A hug Marisol. @bevpuzzler8
Well Bev, it was a let down for both of us! I sent him countless emails trying to get to the bottom of it, but to no avail! He had done it before, but in the past had always apologised and said he was sorry for hurting me. Just one of his little quirks I guess. But it is in the past now and I won’t trust so easily again. Never too old to learn a lesson! @bevpuzzler8
@bevpuzzler8 Yes, looks like he has gone for good. Nancy was just asking about him yesterday. She had noticed the same thing. Said she wouldn’t trust him with anything again. They were good friends, or at least she thought they were.
Hi Bev! Looked up Toku’s profile this morning and his cancer is now stabilised (not gone, but under control). That is good news, better than my husband ever did! He can now be weaned off some of the toxic chemicals and regain his energy. I will keep praying for him. How are you doing? Keeping as well as possible, I hope. I keep going, one tottery foot in front of the other. Can’t recommend old age, but we are both lucky to have made it! Many don’t. Take care and God Bless, Maree. xx
Yes Bev, we have both been through the mill, but that is life! By the way, that is an Aussie expression as well. We just have to hang in there and with God’s help we make it. Take care, Maree🥰
No punches pulled Bev as you relate your personal experience and must admit it was very brave of you to travel down the road to relive which caused a lot of heartache. Take care and God bless.
@Maree87 Yes, I searched for and found him. Back in the day I must have done a couple of his pics. ...My husband was getting a huge tummy. He was a golfer and the guys teased about drinking to much beer. He hardly ever drank beer. One day one of the golfers started talking with him, through this conversation he said to my husband you look to solid and referred him to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Mn. This golfer happened to be a doctor. My husband came home and called the Clinic and made an appt. We flew to Mn. Tests were taken and determined what the problem was. Two days later he was in surgery and removed a 24 pound tumor. Encapsulated it itself. No chemo. but was told it is called a Liposarcoma and will return. It did every two years after Nov of 1992. Once two small ones size of golf balls. He took care of golf tournaments and when he was supposed to go for a recheck in 2003, he put it off ....WRONG move. He then had surgery again and this time it attacked his spleen and that was removed. Since your spleen wards off different things, he never really rallied. He would get a bug of flu or something and be given an antibiotic which caused yeast infection .... etc. Feb. 08, 2006 he passed. I miss him, but like you said, he was in pain and I think was ready to go. You and I have been through the mill, as us yanks say. So nice chatting with you. We will hang tight Maree. Hugs from across the great pond, so to speak.🥰
Hi Bev, I see you were chatting to Toku today. I look up his profile every morning to see if there are any more updates on his health. My husband died 25 years ago of exactly the same cancer. He had chemo but unfortunately didn’t go into remission. He was in such pain and I know it is a horrible thing to say, but I was glad when he died because I couldn’t stand to see his suffering. He was only 66. Also had a beautiful daughter-in-law who passed away with breast cancer 13 years ago. Cancer treatment has come a long way in the last 25 years and giving more people hope and extra time. I thought you may have been one of Toku’s pals, but am glad that you made contact with him. Lol, Maree xx
It is Autumn (Fall) here and the weather is beautiful at present.. Just over a week ago we had so much rain that some towns were flooded. But we needed the rain as it had been dry for so long. You can’t tell me anything about old age, I know it all! I don’t even get out anymore. This is my only form of entertainment. My daughter visits once a week and does my shopping. And I have some good friends. I used to be on the go all the time! You couldn’t stop me, but it has now come to a full stop!! That is life. I try not to complain (too much.) Lol, Maree.
Super Frustration. Perhaps it will pass. Getting old is not for sissies. I keep hanging in the best I can. Hope your weather is pleasant. We had a beautiful day today
Thanks Bev. He was having eye problems and getting headaches. I tried to offer him advice but he took it the wrong way and got in a huff! Wouldn’t answer either Nancy’s or my emails. Men!
Sorry Bev for asking that question but something has been on my mind and I woke during the night and thought of something and couldn’t get back to sleep. But if you don’t know what it is, it is fine. Lol, Maree. 😊
