Hello, I am Merrie (sounds just like Mary). I moved to West Virginia with my husband, Rick, in Dec. 2013. I have 2 cats, one dog (all strays/rescues) and am looking forward to having chickens soon(?).
Update (Nov. 2017): we now have 28 breeding rabbits, 52 laying hens of different breeds, 3 Guinea hens, 2 Banty hens, 2 roosters, 5 wether goats (for clearing brush) and we still have the dog and 2 cats. We are just now getting a barn built that should house all the critters under one roof. (Yeah!!)
Update August 2020: Now have 6 chicken pens in the new barn-each with 25 hens. All pens have a window and a small door to an outside run. We got that whole side of the barn insulated and just need to do the rabbit side. I still have 25 rabbits, the 2 cats, 1 dog, and now have 8 wether goats on brush-eating duty. There are plenty of projects that still need to be done before winter, but Jigidi does call me quite a bit. Have a nice day!
