My very best wishes for a happy birthday, Sue.
I'm not sure if you know, but sadly, Ank (puzzeljac) is not well enough to make a birthday puzzle for you this year. She has recently completed her fourth round of chemotherapy in a battle against lung cancer and is very weak.
To read what Ank wrote in her own words and the updates I have since added, I suggest you go to:

Again, my best wishes for your special day.

I always wonder reading accounts of the Mayflower’s first journey, how many of the women went because it was their husband ‘s desire to seek freedom of worship. Seeing the replica, one can only imagine the difficulties the Pilgrims endured. At least one baby was born on the voyage amongst the very sick. Their strength to succeed was admirable! History was changed because of where they landed. It was not, as you know, their original destination. Thank you for this puzzle. I am not a Mayflower descendent. My immigrant grandparents also made their voyage to America on a ship but in the late 1800’s not in luxurious circumstances but far better conditions than then the Mayflower. Even then I was told it was a difficult crossing.

Thank you for your kind remarks. My ancestors were aboard this ship.

this is a lovely puzzle. I am always amazed at how small those early ships were. I've been aboard one smaller named the Lady Washington. She is still sailing as a training ship and occasionally docks in Olympia where the public can go aboard. Thanks for this wonderful puzzle.
