great-

I did pass judyredhorn's page link to some other Jigidi pals. Thanks for the thought!

l can respect your lack of time for this commitment. l hope you will jump in as you can. l was also wondering whether you might be in touch with others who might be interested?

Be well- Jean

I found them - the art by Jacob Lawrence. They're very striking and he uses fantastic colors. I'll try to pop in when I get caught up with my backlog of 'chores'. They remind me a bit of a print I have hanging up here at home by Mark Cottman of Baltimore:

@dris651

Andy. hello- hope all is well with you.

l want to let you now that judyredhorn is posting a series of paintings chronicling the great migration of blacks from the rural South to the industrial North after WW1 - They are fascinating in technique, tell a powerful story, and she and l are commenting as we go along- l think you might enjoy coming along on this story... shall l send you the link?

Andy, you are a man after my own heart! including the doggie rescue aspect- Thank you again- l am so glad to have met you.- Jean

dris651

Not really, Jean. More like a retired Yankee Doodle (born on July 4th) who likes to help rescue dogs and get them into new homes, hence most of the avatar. I added the beret for a laugh after a commenter on one of Bommom's puzzles suggested that ladies were attracted to the artistic types. Of course the truth is I have no talent at all with a paint brush! As for finding a good avatar, try googling words that you feel reflect your personality, but check the "Images" option, instead of "All" - you'll be amazed at what you will find. For example, this popped up very quickly when I searched for "partner in crime":

I'm not saying that's necessarily you, but you get the idea. Hang in there with the typing - just take your time, relax and enjoy.

@yahooligan
l think l know who you are although sadly l've forgotten your name...
Are you my of ally, partner-in-crime- who disappeared without a trace and who l've missed so much?
If so please do keep in touch with me- email convo also a possibility. Jean

Grand indeed- you may be getting old but l am already there.
l very much like your avatar. Are you really an old dog of a Parisian roue? If so l'll send you my phone number- but not my picture.
l would like an avatar reflecting my personality as well but l am so over challenged already that attempting to do that is out of the question. l am having serious issues with the keyboard- writing anything takes me forever and l am getting exhausted. But l am also having too much fun to quit.
Thank you, Andy.

dris651

I understand Jean. I frequently use this graphic as a signature avatar because of my own forgetfulness! Ain't getting old grand? ;-)

Thank you Andy- l will attempt to follow directions. To be continued, l expect
The next challenge will be to remember your name- l have a head made of Swiss cheese: more holes than cheese.

Any puzzle that you create, Jean, is a private puzzle until you publish it. So you create a puzzle, save it but don't publish it and then send the puzzle link to the folks that you want share the puzzle with. For example, I created this 'private' puzzle that has not been published - you won't find it out with the other puzzles. To access it, you have to copy the link, in this case it's
https://www.jigidi.com/created.php?id=LKY68JDL
and then paste it into your browser. You should then be able to see, solve and comment on the puzzle. I hope this helps. - Andy

First l want to apologize to you, yahooligan- l see you joined Jigidi today. Welcome. l usually am not rude.
On the other hand you seem to know me, which indicates you have been on Jigidi under a different name? thank you for your good wishes and keep in touch.

nooooooo..........!
In fact l am sure you witnessed me swallowing my words (but not my opinions).
Be well, yahoo-

@yahooligan
If we're talking about private puzzles my friend then you must understand the meaning of the word: PRIVATE. Afraid you'll have to ask them

Actually l have a brown thumb but l do have a houseful of houseplants. My motto is if they die they die and get replaced- unfortunately they don't die- they just sit there and drop, reproaching me for their miserable existence. The camera was terrible and my skill with it even worse- in short l never meant this puzzle to see the light of day. l created it for private chat but evidently that didn't fly.
Thanks for the tip- @dris651 - now, can you guide me in creating an unpublished private puzzle?
The computer and l are mortal enemies- It is out to murder me then blame me for my own demise.
@nanlein Thank you for the compliment anyway.

dris651

I love how plants brink life to the great indoors. @jeanblum, I think your attempts to send messages are going awry because your including a dash at then end of their user name. Either dropping the dash or adding a space (ie. @dris651 - ) should resolve the problem.

nanlein

you certainly have a green thumb! nan
