The artwork in Today's Daily Jigsaw Puzzle is titled "Der kleine Gärtner (The small Gardener)" and the artist is Géza Peske ♥

Géza Peske (1859–1934) was a Hungarian painter known for his genre scenes, particularly depictions of children and rural life.

Born in Kelecsény (now in Slovakia), he studied under Gyula Benczúr and Ludwig von Löfftz at the Academy of Munich, where he developed his academic realist style. His warm and detailed portrayals of everyday life gained recognition, and his works were exhibited internationally, including in Paris.

Despite his talent, he remained less famous than some of his contemporaries. An interesting fact: He was skilled in watercolor, as seen in works like Landscape near Saint Jean de Mont, and has a street named after him in Bodajk, Hungary ♥

Excuse me, der is a masculine article.

He seems to be holding a calendula seed. Cute!

Der is a masculine pronoun.
I would have translated it as "The Little Gardener"

I also agree. The hat and clothing look like boys' wear of the period. Charming. I wonder what he's looking (and smiling) at: a cabbage worm?

@Hdarlene, I believe you are correct, the bow tie could be neutral but looks boyish.

Hdarlene

I think that is a boy? Does anyone know?
