Raffaello Sorbi (1844–1931) was an Italian painter from Florence, renowned for his detailed historical and genre scenes. He studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti under Antonio Ciseri.

Sorbi became an academician at the Royal Institute of Fine Arts of Florence and an honorary associate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Urbino.

@NancyMN @nankypoo @downonthefarm @Hdarlene @Purr We all love a good laugh! Thank you for the comments! 😊

I love the little statuette (Pan??) that's leaning backward, as if to balance the girl leaning backward in the opposite direction!

Purr

wondering what memory she is envisioning?

nankypoo

That must have been hard to sit for, and paint too.

downonthefarm
