I have left javasage and Callie_Lou on my "favorites" list up 'til now because I haven't had the heart to remove them...and just in case somebody left a comment that needed a response. It is now nearly five months since Libby passed and healing has started...I'm going to remove this site from my "favorites" list. Nora said that someone at the palace phoned to make sure she was still here...before they send the card. LOL She is one of the dearest souls I know...still knitting baby clothes for the hospital and creating original afghan patterns for great grandchildren. I think her generation is the greatest, most responsible generation that has ever existed. We'll not see their likes again.

So appreciate the update on Callie Lou and Roxie. It's nice to know that they are slowly making the adjustment to a new home and new loving family.

A card from the Queen! :) Happy 100 to your cousin!

All good here, Faye. It's mid-summer and we're having a run of cooler (mid twenties) weather - so I'm happy. I hate the extreme heat (35-45) weather we get in summer. And I'm sure your cousin WILL get a telegram from the Queen. My partner's grandmother did when she turned 100 - along with various Australian dignitaries too. One of them seemed to be individually written, and remarked on the differences she would have seen in those 100 years. I thought that was pretty impressive! Hope you are well too. (•‿•)

Here is the latest note on The Girls...it's so good to be in touch!

"We were having a lot of problems with Callie Lou potting in the house. We started using a bell for her to jungle on the door knob that lets us know she wants out. She has caught on really quick and gets real excited when we tell her what a good job she did. Roxie is getting a little bit better, she still has moments were she looks very sad but they are getting farther apart. It helps when she goes out into our back yard, there are lots of smells that she likes to investigate. It stays wet back there when it rains so right now she doesn’t get to go back there a lot."

At this moment when I am crying and I grieve for my friend i am sure Libby certainly sits in heaven, she laughs and is happy. She deserves it. Thankyou so much dear Libby, for that, I had the opportunity to get to know you. I'll miss you, You stay in my heart forever, with love Jana, ♥

I am deeply sorry to hear of Libby's passing. I know she will be missed...because she was so cherished.

I have a Libby-size hole in my heart - which means it is HUGE.
Meeting her in person will always be one of the high points of my life.
I know she won't want me to grieve forever, so I will begin remembering all the wonderful laughter that she brought flooding into my life. What an absolute gift she was to me - and to so many others. Whatever one's beliefs in an afterlife, I know that she will live on in our hearts. Love never dies, and she was so full of love and life and laughter. The world will always be a better place because of her.

I will miss you Libby and your Javasage puzzles, profile and comments

I was so grateful to learn that Libby was resting comfortably at the end of her journey here. She had been through so much and it was right and fitting that her passing was peaceful.

I spent about a week and a half with Libby when we were both visiting mutual friends in San Diego a few years back. What an unforgettable woman! Libby was larger than life itself. One was immediately at ease with her. She was one of those people that you felt you had known forever - kind, caring, with an infectious laugh and countless witticisms. As we sat outside together, she candidly shared her life story, the good and the bad. She also showed me her secret to solving Jigidi puzzles more quickly though I never have attained anywhere near her speed.

She will indeed be missed by so many whose lives she enriched and I extend my deepest sympathies to her family and friends. Last night, I sat looking at the stars as I pondered the mysteries of death. Where was Libby now on her next journey?

This much I know is true - If you believe as I do that time is an artificial construct and too profound for us to even begin to understand, then we can be comforted by knowing that our Libby has not "left" us behind and we will not have to endure long periods of time without her. In reality we are only one heartbeat away from her and she from us. We can meditate on the complexity of a universe that allows us to be fooled by the idea of long passages of time when the reality is probably much more likely to be somewhere along the lines of simultaneous outcomes. As I said, only one heartbeat away....

I met Libby on Jigidi a little over four years ago and our friendship grew from there. I was one of the lucky ones to have met Libby in person the summer before last. We had spent the afternoon together, having lunch and then time sipping coffee at Starbucks. We had such a wonderful time and conversation with Libby just came easy as if we’d known one another are whole life. Libby was warm, funny, courageous and a one of the kindness person I’ve known. Yes, Libby was all those things and more but most of all she was my friend and I will miss her and think of her often and I am blessed to have known her.

We often spoke about one day meeting up again & she dreamed of buying a camper to travel around the country to meet all the many friends she met on Jigidi. I wish time would have allotted that dream to come true and I’m saddened that we will not have that opportunity to meet up again in this life.

Libby, I thank you for being there for me in one of my darkest times but most of all I thank you for being my friend. I will miss you but you will always live on in my heart and the heats of all those who’s lives you've touched with the precious gift of you!

Libby spoke of her friendships with you all here and the connections she felt to you enthusiastically. The many words of kindness you've posted are a beautiful tribute and I feel it is lifting her on her way through this next adventure.

As you've said, Libby was courageous - she was one of the most courageous people I have known. She fought hard against this illness and was a source of inspiration to me as well. She was gentle and patient and kind, and a joy to know.

During her last week, Libby was never left alone. Her father was often present for long periods of time and one of her friends sat by her bedside throughout each night she was in hospice

Her ashes will be scattered at her father's sheep farm near Roanoke Va. She had arranged for her two dogs to go live with one of her best friends here in Charlotte.

I am so very sorry for the loss you feel - you were important to Libby. I know, because she said you were.

My heart is breaking.

Libby, I hope somewhere you realize how beloved you are on Jigidi. Always so positive, funny and caring. May you always rest in peace now that your pain is gone.

Libby dear, you will be missed here at Jigidi. It was a joy to know you and to follow the adventures of Callie Lou and Roxie. It seems the day we did not wish to come has arrived. It is brightly sunny here but cold, and the ice and frost make the yard look brittle. I have seen only a single goldfinch braving the cold to come to our feeder, and I find myself admiring its courage and spirit, much as I did Libby's. Like her, it seems determined to carry on despite the day.

Although we only spent one day in her company, I have been following her journey with Michelle (puzzaddled), inquiring how she was faring. I have never met someone so determined to carry on and to fight against her enemy and with such good cheer. It was a wonderful and memorable day, filled with laughter and joy, touched with only a soft hint of sadness that hovered in the background. We spoke about what was happening, but Libby was so matter of fact about it all, that it seemed so trivial against the sunshine and the antics of Roxie and Callie Lou. It was not until the end of the day when we hugged good bye that I found myself surprised by how much courage and spirit could be found in such a frail body. It was then that I began to anticipate this day, much against all hopes and wishes for Libby.

Libby asked us not to be saddened by what was happening, or what would happen. I find myself unable to do as she asked. Her spirit was so strong, and I only realize now that it belonged with God, and not here with us. I admired her greatly and we will miss her much.

Back during our visit in May, Libby talked to us about Callie Lou and Roxie's care. I don't want to presume upon her friends and family, but she did ask that I reassure their jigidi friends that they would be well taken care of and greatly loved if she had to move on. The relationship between those sweet dogs and her was a joy to behold. The love shone.

Dearest Libby, My prayers for you are for an easy, peaceful transition from this life to when you meet your Savior. I'm so glad we got to meet you and the girls in May and talk several times by telephone. I love you. We know not what the future holds but we know Who holds the future. Rest in His loving arms.

Hello friends of javasage - I regret that I must share with you that Libby has been in hospice care since Tuesday Nov 18th and is now making her transition into spirit. She loved this community and spoke so very lovingly of her connections to you here. Losing her is a great loss to us all but I am grateful for now having her as a guardian angel.
