"What Cancer CAN Do" Blessings and Gifts?!?
Proč jste nahlásili tuto hádanku?
**Full text in comments**
What must have drawn your eye is Sally's delightful artwork and Chrissie's fancy "texting" talent~~ dear friends who generously donated their time and effort (I guess...haven't received a bill yet)! ;-) The poetry is by a beautiful and talented young writer I "met" online while obtaining her permission to publish it here.
So many wonderful and caring Jigidi friends have expressed concern for my health and have already been sending prayers and encouragement my way...even though I was not yet ready to share the details, bless you~each and everyone! ;-)))
Many of you may know I am an 11-year survivor of ovarian cancer~a HUGE miracle! ;-))) After struggling with the "medical machine" since late Nov, I was finally diagnosed on 1/31 with advanced small~cell lung cancer...another really nasty type! Sooooo, this ain't my 1st rodeo...been there, done that and got a great collection of hats! ;-)))
One thing I learned last time was how difficult it is to tell people~how upsetting it can be to them and how hard it is for me to deal with their reaction(s)...one reason I was not forthcoming sooner (plus I'm kind of private). I didn't want to put anyone off, but needed some time to grapple with this myself~while looking for a way to make this easier for all of us...thank you for being patient with me! ;-)
I found Karen's lovely poem and immediately realized it suited my purpose, because it is written in a positive light~from the viewpoint of the GIFTS this disease can offer (as too many of us well know), even as we have to contend with the devastation it (or the cure) can cause.
There is an inoperable mass on my bronchial tube, lesions on my spleen, lots of lymph nodes involved and a spot on my L3 vertebra (TMI?)~the only good news I got there for awhile was catching it before anything spread to my brain! I've had 1 course of chemo already, the next begins Tue, then a CT scan to check for progress, and hopefully 4 more rounds of chemo at 3-week intervals.
My greatest concern (of course) has been the girls...please be assured my utmost intention is seeing Callie Lou, Roxie and Ms Java Bean through the normal span of their lives (whilst kicking Cruella De Vil {aka cancer} to the curb!), should anything else happen, they WILL stay together, and be very well taken care of (spoiled more like) by dear, dear friends. ;-)))
Please forgive me in advance if I don't feel up to responding some days, and know I would never do anything to hurt or offend, but from past experience I do get a tad cranky when I don't feel well. ;-)
This is no time for pride or ego~I do have a touch of both ;-), and beg your prayers, positive, healing and loving energy, Grace and another HUGE miracle!!!
You all have picked me up and carried me through some difficult times~even if you weren't aware if it at the time...my Mom passing away, loosing Dulcie, and so much more...sheesh, now this!
I am so very appreciative of all your kindnesses, and couldn't be more grateful! Much love, Libby ;-)))))
