Destress with Zen mode

Do you solve puzzles on Jigidi to destress and enjoy meditative energy while solving puzzles - and do you find time tracking to get in the way of that? Then Zen mode is for you ♥

Zen mode

Over the years, we have received messages from puzzlers who find having the time show while solving puzzles distracting or even somewhat stressful.

Until now, their options were to disable the timer to avoid seeing it. But to many, this was only a half solution, as knowing that the timer was still running was a continued distraction. The second option was to log out of Jigidi to avoid having their time registered. But by doing so, there would be no record that they had solved the puzzle.

But that was then!

Now we have created Zen mode for all of you who look to thoroughly destress with the puzzles on Jigidi. You can enable and disable Zen mode in your profile settings as you please.

How does Zen mode work?

When you solve puzzles in Zen mode, there will be no time tracking, but the record of your solves will remain.

This means you will see your solved puzzles in your completed puzzles and your statistics. And when you have to leave a puzzle unfinished, you will find it in your 'In Progress,' so you can go back and forth on them as usual.

You'll find our guide on how to switch to Zen mode here, along with a more detailed description of Zen mode.

Happy puzzling, everyone and thank you for being here! We very much hope you'll enjoy this new addition to Jigidi ♥

I just don't care about the time it takes to solve a puzzle and I am truly not interested in the speed and time of others so I don't look or notice them.

Cool...thanks!

I've never understood the thinking behind using software to solve puzzles. OK, try it if you wish, but to keep doing it...? I suppose it's difficult, with all the aids, to do the times they do, but what for...? Ideally there should be two time modes, if that were possible, one for them and one for everyday normal users.
I've likened it in the past to having your dinner, then getting someone else to eat it for you. Anyhow, thanks to all the people who set the puzzles, and good luck to all who solve them.

Where did the iPad app for jigidi go??

I used to be curious how puzzles could be solved so quickly so I researched it and found a video on Youtube on how to stack the pieces up according to shape then run other pieces by them, automatically connecting them. Times never bothered me until I saw others were feeling somehow inadequate when seeing these incredible (and unrealistic) times. Now I call them stackers and I notice if I comment on them on a certain puzzle, they stay clear of doing that puzzle. Strange : ). I have loved doing puzzles since childhood-- (some 50 yrs ago) and I don't see the point in stacking unless you want to look like a whiz-- which you aren't. Zen mode is a great option. I too forget it's running and leave the page unattended-- but I have fun : ) Thanks Jigidi!

I agree with Jumbliah that it is impossible to solve puzzles at some of the top solving times. I appreciate the Jigidi team have stopped some of the cheating, but there are still cheats on here. If they are discovered, I hope ALL their solving times are removed from the site.
I also solve puzzles on a big monitor and am quite fast when I feel competitive, so expect to be not too far away from the fastest solver and can often be the best time, so unrealistic times are quite obvious.
Other times, I do difficult puzzles for the challenge and/or watch TV at the same time, so don't expect to be near the top of the leader board.

How nice , it’s never bothered me unless I forget to close the timer page and I see 10 hours later , oops

I'm in my early 80's but, am still very competitive. Thank for giving me a chance to do puzzles without looking at how I did compared to others!

Anything to reduce stress in these turbulent times is welcome. Thank You.

Thank you so much for this! At last there's no pressure to make, or beat, a time, nor feel inadequate for a 'slow' time!
So many people, myself included, have felt at odds with having a leaderboard! Now that stress (however subtle or strong) is not a problem.
It's been a long time coming, but much appreciated by all 🙂

Time is not an issue for me as I'm not competing with anyone. I just love this site especially the poems and the write ups that come with the puzzles and the way we can increase the size of the pieces. The last helps me not to strain my eyes too much. But thanks anyway for the zen mode. Most thoughtful of you to give us the option .

I am in Zen mode by creating a puzzle 🙂🙏
And for me is solving time not so important, so solving a puzzle is also Zen for me. Thanks so much 💕👍

This is a wonderful puzzle site. I puzzle for relaxation and enjoyment. I love being able to communicate with people from around the world and see wonders from around the world. I can ignore the timer: at my age competition doesn't drive me. It's good to have the Zen option, and be able to switch it on or off. Thank you.

The timer has never bothered me, I never look at it whilst solving and really couldn't care less about the leader board. I do understand some folks who enjoy the challenge to be at the top and more power to them. I sympathise with those who find the timer is a distraction and applaud you at jigidi for the Zen solution. Thank you again for a very enjoyable site which my wife also enjoys now.

Thank you for this option. I might use this sometimes, but it will depend on how U feel that day I am doing puzzles. Sometimes I like having the timer on while at other times I don't. Hope you all have a great day.

Thank you. I will try Zen mode. I try not to look at how long it took me to do a puzzle, but it always appears on completion. Now, I will be completely free!

Thanks Jigidi. But I'll stick with my timer. It's what I've had for more than ten years now, so am used to it, and am interested in my solving times on puzzles! (❛ᴗ❛)
