Managing AI images on Jigidi
AI has firmly landed on Mother Earth!
On Jigidi, many find the tools boost their creativity, and they enjoy creating images for their fellow puzzlers using AI ♥
These often colorful and emotive puzzles have gained ever-growing fan bases. However, there is a need for transparency about AI-produced images and, for some, a wish to manage the prevalence of AI images in the flow of puzzles on Jigidi.
To address this, we:
- Introduce an AI marking to ensure transparency and context.
- Provide Jigidi Plus members the option to reduce the number of AI-generated puzzles in their feeds.
Let's dive some more into this. (Or, if you’re all about efficiency, you can jump straight to the filter activation instructions)
AI markings on Jigidi
At Jigidi, we embrace the creativity AI enables (and have added an AI category for those who appreciate the vibrant and emotive nature of AI-generated puzzles).
We embrace the creativity while acknowledging the challenges the tools present to us all. On Jigidi, the main issue is that we all firmly dislike having our emotions tricked.
Acknowledging this, we want to make sure the proper context gets applied - we do so by marking puzzles AI-created images with an AI marking.
This is how the marking looks on Jigidi: AI
This marking will appear automatically and for all Jigidi puzzlers.
Ensuring transparency
Our goal with the AI marking is to ensure that all users are informed when viewing an image created with AI - allowing for appreciation without confusion.
Transparency gives us the context to enjoy AI works; with that in hand, we can appreciate the skill, creativity, and imagination involved in its creation.
To accommodate this, we have trained a machine learning model (yes, we know, right? ☺) to classify and mark AI images on Jigidi. The model is based on AI images already on Jigidi. It is not perfect - but it works really well and has around a 95% success rate.
So, what to do when the system gets it wrong?
Revoking AI marking
If you have had a puzzle of yours marked with an AI marking, and you are confident it is not an image created by AI, you can revoke the AI marking in the publishing section of the puzzle:
Ok, now that we have transparency in place to ensure we don’t need to have trust issues regarding puzzles we come across on Jigidi. What, then, about choice?
We got that covered as well ☺ Onwards, to the option to reduce the amount of AI images in your puzzle feed.
AI filter available for Jigidi Plus members
AI is a marvelous technology - and it is available to us all. As such, it is no wonder AI creations have become prevalent in the daily flow of puzzles on Jigidi.
Depending on your perspective, the number of AI images may feel overwhelming. If this is indeed you, and you are a Jigidi Plus member, then our AI filter option is the way to go.
Before we get to how you can activate the filter, let’s look at what you can expect from its workings.
What the filter covers
Once you have activated the filter in your profile settings, it will remove most AI-generated puzzles from the list pages (the front page, categories, search, etc.).
The filter uses the same machine-learning model as our AI marking system and has the same 95% success rate.
But there are AI puzzles the filter deliberately will not filter out:
- A user's profile page showcases all their puzzles created with or without AI.
- When you follow a user, you receive notifications when they publish new puzzles, regardless of whether they have an AI marking.
Does this sound good to you? Then let's get the filter activated on your account 👍
How to activate the AI filter on Jigidi
If you are already a Jigidi Plus member, you can go right ahead and activate the filter on your account:
- Click your username in the upper-right corner and select "My Profile".
- Navigate to the "Settings" section.
