Collections
Collections allow puzzle creators to showcase their puzzles thematically.
This organization also helps puzzle solvers understand the creators' overarching themes through these collections.
You might create a collection of puzzles featuring your garden or one for bridges you have crossed. How you choose to use collections is entirely up to you ☺
Similar to playlists on your phone or computer, a puzzle can be included in multiple collections or none at all. It does not change the puzzle itself.
How to create a collection
To create your first collection on Jigidi, you follow these steps:
-
Click on your username in the upper right corner and select "My Collections":
-
Click "Create collection" in the middle of the screen:
Note, if you have created collections already click on "New collection" at the top right instead.
-
Fill out the title and description of your collection and click "Create":
Although providing a description for your collection isn't mandatory, we highly encourage it. Even a brief, intuitive write-up will significantly enhance your fellow puzzlers' experience, offering them valuable insights into your perspective on this particular selection of puzzles.
Now you have created a collection!
At this point, though, your collection is but merely empty. So, let's add some of your relevant puzzles to the collection, shall we ☺
How to add puzzles to a collection
You can add as many puzzles to your collections as you wish. You have two options for placing your puzzles into collections:
For a single jigsaw puzzle:
- Open the puzzle via "My Puzzles".
- Find the "Collections" drop-down list and select one or more collections.
- Remember to click "save" when you are done.
Note: The option to select collections will only appear after you have created at least one collection.
Organizing multiple puzzles at once:
- Click on your username in the upper right corner and select "My Puzzles":
-
Click "Organize," located to the right just above your list of puzzles. This changes the view to "organization mode," where puzzles can be selected rather than opened. Please note that the "Organize" option will be available only after you've created one or more collections.
-
Once switched to organization mode, select the puzzles you want to add by clicking them. This will change color to indicate they are now selected. If you regret the selection, simply click the puzzle again to deselect it.
-
Click "Add to collection ..." and choose the collection to which you wish to add the puzzles.
Congratulations, puzzler! You have now added puzzles to your collection ?
How to view my collections?
You can view your collections in two places: On your public profile (visible to everyone) and in "My Collections" (visible to you only).
Viewing your collections on your public profile
You and your fellow puzzlers can view your collections on your public profile.
To find your public profile, click on your username in the top right corner of a Jigidi page and select "My Profile":
-
Then click on “View my public profile” to see how your profile page looks to your fellow puzzlers:
-
You will find your collections below your profile description and above your published puzzles.
Viewing your collections in "My Collections"
"My Collections" is the page you go to when you want to create a new collection or work on your existing ones.
You can access the "My Collections" page in your user menu by clicking your username in the upper right corner of a Jigidi page.
Who can see my collections?
Your fellow puzzlers can view your collections primarily through your public profile page. Only collections with published jigsaw puzzles will be visible there.
When someone clicks on a collection, they'll see only the published puzzles within it. Puzzles you have added but have not yet been published on Jigidi will not be visible in the collections on your public profile. Instead, you can find them on your "My Collections" page.
Collections that are empty or do not contain any published puzzles will not be visible on your public profile page.
Editing a collection
If you wish to edit a collection you have made, go to your "My Collections" page and select the collection you wish to make changes to.
To change the title or description of the collection, click "Edit details".
To remove puzzles, hover your mouse over the puzzle and click the "X" in the top right corner of the puzzle's image.
