Check out the bison's eye. He looks like he just received shocking news. Ha ha!

I love Bison.... They are so majestic.... We were once stopped in a buffalo traffic jam for about 30 minutes in Yellowstone National Park... What a sight.... Buffalo just calmly walking down the road and then stopping right in the middle.... 'Take that you tourists' And we did... Lots of photos.... Thanks LJ.... 。◕‿◕。

Here is to answer the question: Bison are increasingly raised for meat and hides; the majority of American bison in the world are raised for human consumption. Bison meat is generally considered to taste very similar to good beef, but is lower in fat and cholesterol, yet higher in protein than beef.

I did comment but the disappearing bug is at it again. This big fellow heard what SunnyBarb said.

Their legs are so short and look like they couldn't possibly support such a big hulk of a body. Very strange looking animals! I am glad you guys liked this, Beekay, Suzy, Snooker, Deejaybee, Spricey, Dave, SunnyBarb, Sandy and Chillydilly!

There appears to be a brand on the hind quarter of the main bison so it may well be a farmed animal. They really are very large heavy animals and I wouldn't want to get too close to one of them. If one of them is on the road in front of me, I let them have the right-of-way. You challenge - you lose.

Nice photo laura. I like how the sunlit hay compliments their backs and the shocked eye!

Some farmers are raising them for food....

warbler

IN SOME RESTAURANTS AND EVEN HOSPITALS NOT ALL BUT SOME IT'S VERY HEALTHY FOR YOU

Spricey

Dumb question here... I have never been to America so just wondering - is Bison something you would find on a restaurant menu?

deejaybee5254

THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL TO LOOK AT AND VERY GOOD EATING TOO

Pretty color though.

pumpkinhead

They are BIG animals.

Beekay

Looks a bit angry to me! They are so massive.
