A Little Extra Income for the Farmer

I can see both sides of this. When I saw a cell tower on a hill nearby, I cringed. But I understand that it will bring this farmer some added income, which he can use.

I see no downside to this for the farmer.

Our cell service used to be so bad I BEGGED Nextel to put a tower up on our property (we had 10 acres at the time). They never would and I finally switched to cell service that actually works!!

If it helps pay the rent then it is worth it for the farmer.

I don't know what the land owners are paid for those giant windmills, but I would prefer this rig over one of those. Now if I was contacted by someone for oil rights on my land, I would have to say "drill, baby, drill."

I guess it all helps if they are doing it tough. Not sure if I'd like to be that close to a tower though.

And they have tu pay income tax on it.

Nice barn and I know some people who did just this. That was 14 yrs ago and the get $500.00 a month.
