That was fun. Do you have any more puzzles like this?

mpilnadyful

THANK YOU!!! Well, lyndee did start off right - and I did say a heated bird house - just wasn't thinking of quite such big birds. It's something I've certainly never seen. Do you have more??? And thanks for the info. It was quite a Puzzle.

OK It's one of the first home water gas fired heaters, the clod water was fed into the heater via the right pipe, the center is the gas supply, the left pipe is the hot water. this could still work today if connected.

Come on RD - 1880's is too broad a "hint" - I wasn't around yet - not even a twinkling in the eye for a couple of generations of ancestors. Come on!!!! Inquiring minds want to know.

Before looking at other answers, a shower.

It has to do with the 1880's

peggysuss

gas light?

Healer

I agree Katerin2, it looks like it should have something to do with feed aka grain/feeding.

Katerin2

for some reason chickens came to mind when i saw it. does it have something to do with feeding chickens?

Healer

Does it have something to do with grain? It looks like a pipe should be attatched to the top, and grain should come out the hole near the point to fill a bin, wagon, silo or something.....

robryan

OK RDW37 - please put us out of our misery!! My attention span is short!!

lyndee

Oh that's a good guess robryan. I say that too!

PastorMike

A whistle?

robryan

With the pipes at the back - I say maybe a steamer too.A steam whistle???

mpilnadyful

A shower? A steamer? A heated bird house? A . . . ???????

I will respond when someone gets it correct

lyndee

I do not know what this is. Maybe something to do with heat?
