World Oceans Day provides a unique opportunity once a year to honor our world’s ocean that connects us all, and this weekend you can join with people in communities around the world to mark the day in a special way.

On and around June 8, people around the globe will come together to celebrate this year’s World Oceans Day theme: “Together we have the power to protect the ocean.” This growing global event serves as a rallying point for raising awareness and promoting personal and community action in fun and positive ways, leading to a more aware, engaged, and sustainable society, and a healthier ocean. Hundreds of events are planned this year to help individuals be part of the solution for our ocean by supporting clean energy choices, trash-free coasts and beaches, sustainable seafood, and more.

Thanks Pat - I thought it was cleverly done!

Love the piggy fish ...

monza006

Thanks Edie - it's quite scary when you read about some of the huge areas of the ocean that are covered with rubbish.

Oh dear Josie, sorry you didn't like the pig fish - I thought it was quite bizarre! I always love finding pictures of creatures in the ocean because so many of them are really beautiful and we seldom see them.

Oh goodie - the piggy fish has a fan - thanks Barb :~)

That would be great Ardy, when you get the time, thanks :~))

Thanks John, yes, some pollution does start in the rivers!

feederjohn

Nice one Mandy if we stopped the pollution in our rivers it would go some way to cleaning up the oceans :~))

ringleader

Mandy, I had an email recently of unusual undersea photos. There was one like the clown fish in the bottom row of your puzzle. I'll forward it on to you if you'd like. Thanks for the awareness with all your good inforamation and fun illustrations.

tigress

Thanks for the puzzle and the info, Mandy. Love the piggy fish. :-)))

JOSIESCORNER

Beautiful images, well except for the pig fish, gross. That starfish could be a piece of jewelry, and the jelly fish looks weightless, oh, but then I keep going back to that poor pig-fish

A very worthy event Mandy. While they were searching for the missing plane it made you realize how much garbage is really in the ocean. Not one piece of all the things they found was ever connected to the missing airplane. Thanks
