Oh, bottom! We don't want any silly nonsense on this wonderful, fun site. Well, no more than the usual silly nonsense! :-) Time out on the naughty step, big smiles and back to normal please.
Wow! Let's not go on an attack here. This is a forum of fun. My apologies if I solicited a response that got taken so poorly. I certainly didn't mean to get anyone's goat. Now let's put on our big boy/girl undies and behave.
Heidi, we raised pygmy goats, they are charming and extremely intelligent. They are not grazers like cattle or sheep. Goats are browsers. Therefore, they sample a bit of vegetation here, a bit there, etc. Usually bad experiences come when one owns a buck or an extremely dominant nanny. Also, even though people who take care of goats are called "goatherds;" one cannot herd a goat, they are too intelligent. They can be lead most easily with a bit of grain in a bucket. Shake the bucket and they will follow one anywhere. Goats are independent thinkers. Even though they do best in groups, they do not have a herd mentality such as cattle or sheep. Just a bit of information from a long time reference librarian and former goat herder.
If you feel a strong dislike for the animal, please, at the very least, use a picture of a goat for target practice. No animal should be used for "target practice."
(( ff... those don't bother me. I've had some nightmarish experiences with goats going out of their way to destroy things, and I now use them for target practice.))
