Thank you Shirley.
Another beauty, chickiemama, Thank you.
Thank you Celeste and thanks for that info robyn!
Just looked up Stamens & anthers Sandy - the anther is the dark blob at the end of the stamen and it holds the pollen. That's the male part of the flower, and the female part is in the very centre of the bunch of stamens!! You learn something everyday on Jigidi!!! Nice photo of a very pretty Daylily too!! Thanks.
It sure is pretty and it has a passenger.. :) giggles
Thank you Graciela, JiggyBelle, Suzy (Good Afternoon!), roseheather, mimi, Laura and lyndee. Thanks for the links roseheather. Expecially the orange one. : )Bill is a good name Laura. LOL
A pretty yellow lily............I know I'm right! :)
I think it's Bill. Bill the Lill.
Don't know the name, but it's very pretty!
This one says it is tall: http://www.bloomingfieldsfarm.com/eado.html, or http://www.bloomingfieldsfarm.com/scsu.html But this one has the dark tips (anthers?): http://www.bloomingfieldsfarm.com/stat.html This one also has the dark tips but it says it is very late in blooming -- is it very late there? : http://www.bloomingfieldsfarm.com/aupn.htmlAnyway, the yellow ones I've linked all came from: http://www.bloomingfieldsfarm.com/listings.html It looks like a good resource for info. In searching for the yellow one I ran across this: https://www.google.com/search?q=Hemerocallis+%27Kwanzo%27&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=fflb It just might be the many-petaled orange one. I found it on a wiki page then googled it.
Ant Blondie.Good morning, sunshine!
It's another golden beauty! Love the photo, too! thanks, Chickie!
Wow! you don't know the name chickie? you are an expert! it is a Yellow Daylily! LOL!!
Thank you Dave, I learned a new word. I never heard them being called anthers, only stamen.Wow, 60,000 is a lot jc. This one shall continue to be a mystery.
Chickie, I was wondering how many daylilies there were, so I looked it up. Over 60,000 registered cultivars! I think it will take CSI to figure out which one this is! Give them a call. Maybe they need a challenge! LOL!
Another nice one Sandy. Those anthers really stand out! Thanks.
Thank you jc and morris.ehes416o, It does look like stella d'oro, but this one is much taller and the flowers are bigger and more compact. I had the name on a metal tag, but it has faded. Thanks for your comment. : )
It looks like Stella de Oro. That is how it's spelled on the little card that came with mine.
A big ant. Very pretty Lilly, chickie!!
