Blue Ribbon Winners at County Fair

I think we can all have dessert and coffee. Pumpkin can bring the chocolate cream cake she posted, Snooker can bring her peach pies, I will bring the berry pies and Robbos will bring the ice cream. YUM.

I got 2nd prize one year in the State Fair of Texas in cake baking. My boss at the bank called me a 2nd rate baker.

Your pies are so good looking. I can see why it was a winner.
I call mine "butt uglies" because no matter how I try, they are ugly. A couple of weeks ago my youngest grandson asked for some "ugly butts" referring to my pancakes, they aren't pretty either.

County Fair, not country, Ank. It's a fair held every year at a set location in a county, and the purpose is to exhibit local agricultural products, livestock, baked good, canned goods, etc. They have rides and kiosks of food and have activities such as a rodeo or tractor pulls. It's a family event. The pie above with the stars won a blue ribbon. The judges taste all the entries and pick the best tasting pie as the winner.

This looks nice. I don't know this. Don't know country fair. If I take my dictionary I find the word fairground for what I think it is. But your country fair is more. That pies are winners, how does that work?
