Great puzzle - thanks!

I certainly don't miss the winters there, but would love to summer there. Summers in PHX are getting to long & hot. We get claustrophobia from being in a/c 4 1/2 months. All my family & HS friends live there & I do miss them. Was back there in '08 for my brother's 50th anniversary. Can't believe it's been six years already. Phoenix was a perfect size when I moved here 28 yrs. ago - 1.5 million & 3 million entire state. Growth doesn't necessarily mean better, just more problems. Yes, I sure will keep working as long as the phone keeps ringing. I have such interesting people from all over the world.

Hi oldandancient - By '64 I was out of high school 2 years. Back in the early '60's you had to take an entrance exam for the specific school of nursing you wanted to go to. I qualified for another hospital school, but only wanted to go to one specific one. I can understand how you could burn out from nursing. Depending on which avenue you pursue, it can be hard on one's soul. I think a lot of one's heart & soul goes into it. Have been self-employed in the convention business for the last 21 years. Best & most enjoyable work I have ever done.

These are raised wooden decks, you may be calling them a raised porch. Also there are no concrete drives, or walks here, native dirt works very well, we don't have mud.

ZZZZ

We don't have any decks, constructed with Budweister bottle tops or not. I'm not sure that which I'd prefer, but I know for sure that I wouldn't be looking forward to ripping up the concrete. That's got to be a daunting job.

Yes I have several decks inside and outside house, the older decking that were built before we got the house, all are being reconstructed, as I can do it, This house was built with a lot of Budweiser (proof the bottle caps are in bedded in the concrete) = a lot of very poor construction.

ZZZZ

Richard, I promise to post one tomorrow. My hand needs a day of rest. :-))))))

ZZZZ

Any weather over 90 degrees F should be banned. I feel for anyone working in 101 degree weather, so I feel badly for you. What do you mean by "decking process"? Are you working on a deck outside your house?

If you don't post one for tomorrow, I will survive, get the hand feeling better. Its 101 deg. out there today 12 to 15% humidity. playing plumber today, same project, reinstalling pipes that were taken out during the decking process.

ZZZZ

Richard, I told you that I'm trying to keep up with you, but I might not even post one tomorrow. My hand is shot; it really is. :-((((((

I will try though. :-))))))

I got very lost in all these lovely patterns, but it was a most enjoyable experience - thanks Wendy ♥

Wendy you are not keeping up with me, I did 1 1/2 additional puzzles yesterday, but yours come first.

Hi old and ancient - I think I have a few years on you. Had I passed the entrance examine (missed it by 5/10 of a point - graded on the curve) I would have graduated from St. Mary of Nazareth School of Nursing in '64. Went another direction & got married & stayed in the same parish I grew up in until Aug. '86 You sure did do your share of moving. Had a cousin that lived in Dayton for a while & vacationed on Hilton Head & did a day trip to Charleston. Beautiful old city. Enjoyed the old market. Wouldn't be surprised if our paths hadn't cross in Charleston, we were there the third week of August, 1985. It's an awfully small world.

ZZZZ

oopsie- I almost missed your comment, Richard. I haven't even started creating one for tomorrow, but I sure better start soon. You are completing your puzzles too quickly now so it's hard to keep up. ;-))))))

ZZZZ

OK, Mary, I will make you a margarita, but I'll have to watch you drink it because I had to quit drinking many years ago. :-))))))

ChitownGal

ZZZZ - Well, being that I live in Arizona, I'll settle for a margarita. LOL

Thank you for todays puzzle, completed it 52 minutes before 5, looking forward towards tomorrows puzzle

ZZZZ

Thank you so very much, Mary. :-)))))))

On a side note, I think it's very cool that you met oldandancient. I would offer tea and/or coffee for both of you, but the tea kettle and coffee pot are in the dishwasher. LOL!

ChitownGal

oldandancient - Hi, I'm from the far northwest side - between Jefferson Park & Norwood Park. Actually, from the Austin / Milwaukee Ave. area. Haven't lived there sin Aug. '86. Have been in Phoenix since than.

ChitownGal

I guess I mean your wonderful, fun originals. Never boring. :0))))))))))))))))))

ZZZZ

Thank you very much, Mary. I actually make these from scratch so I'm not quite sure what you mean by "the graphics you use." :-))))))

ChitownGal

Love it! The graphics you use for your puzzles are smashing!!!!!
Thanks much, Mary
