Snooker - if you like savoury scones, omit the sugar and raisins and add 2 ozs grated cheese instead. Monterey Jack or similar is good. We had these today. All gone now, of course.
Good job, punkin. Proud of you. :) You DID leave a comment below you know.
Add a slight bit more liquid or bake a little less if the dough seems a little dry.
ANOTHER one where I forgot to hit the stupid button!!!
My comment WAS that I can't wait for the cool weather so I can try Zena's recipe for scones!
Now I am hitting "Post comment".
Glad you all stopped by. Thanks. Charlie was working outside so he would come in, grab one and out the door again, then repeat the process. Didn't even put butter on them.
Too true Patti.... I would rather have baked goods over candy any day.... And the heavenly smells while they're in the oven... I can almost see the smile on Charlie's face.... Lucky man.... :) :)
I better not let my husband see these, he love scones, I make a big batch and freeze them, I know what you mean about the hip thing snooker, these do look good though, Thanks snooker.
Good eye, Robbie. Dry roasted almonds, chocolate covered raisins and the chocolate covered almonds you spotted. Teddy just sits there. He's not very talkative either. :)
All they got was butter on them, chookie, not enough time for jam and cream. They were disappearing too quickly.
Thanks for all the nice comments - eyes is the one to thank.
They do look scrumptious snooker and you spread them with a good glob of butter! I like your bottle of Kirkland milk chocolate almonds, does Teddy help himself? Thanks.
These look super, Snooker, you have done marvellously! I am so pleased they have been successful for you - I'm not surprised they vanished so quickly. That's one reason it is an 8-piece batch, I think a 10-batch would go a the same speed but with more doleful hip-additions. Yippee for Snooker's scones!
I believe the blinking is the thing that makes food vanish. It is like the nose thing on bewitched. I make something and when I blink it is gone or mostly gone. I do not know how that works but it appears to be a universal thing in the kitchen. We need to do a study.
