It is a rare example of a 14C manor house. It was a post office for a relatively short time in the 19C. The letter box is not the original one, nor is it still in use. The property is looked after by the National Trust.

This is a solid old building which has survived the Atlantic storms for many centuries. Thanks you Rosemary and waxwing...Sue

This is a fun puzzle. So many shades, from the flowers to the slates and I always love that stonework. Thank, Sue.

Fantastic building, and this is a very good photo of it. I saw it when I was there, but didn't go inside.

You were lucky to get in for free Faye, wouldn't happen these days although the fee goes towards the upkeep of NT properties...Sue

When we were here I don't think the NT had taken over yet as we wandered around the "castle" free of charge...so long ago. :)))

bentleyd I've missed you but thought you still had signal problems so it's nice to see you. It's such an old building but still standing.
Joyce this has to be the crème de la crème of chimneys so far. At least we know the building is well cared for by the National Trust.
Yes 48 I'm glad it's being looked after too. This is an important building that mustn't be allowed to go to rack and ruin.
Thank you...Sue
