Carrizo Gorge Goat Canyon Railroad Trestle

I, too, am fascinated by the building of these kinds of things. Cannot imagine working on such a project. This whole railroad project was an incredible undertaking. This link gives the basic history, and the 3 videos at that link are, to me, all worth watching. I especially enjoyed the last third video because it has what to me are incredible shots of the moving parts of the train adjusting to the track, etc.

I always imagine what it was like for the construction crew on projects like this. There are numerous photo essays of the erecting of skyscrapers, Hoover Dam, the Golden Gate bridge and such. Always fascinating to me.

Thanks, Snooks. I've seen professionally planned cactus gardens that aren't anywhere near as nice as that bit of hillside!
