Nice shot LJI know my purple martin condo i got was invaded by sparrows. laughs. I always see the Purple Martins during the summer. Those there are some beautiful little blue birds
These birds look cobalt blue to me, unless my color is off. Purple Martins I have ID'd are an indigo or perhaps midnight blue, very dark compared to these. Laura~Love the image of you stopping & snapping pic wherever you see something interesting! :-)
I would like to get a purple martin house of my own and see if I can get any to take up residence.
They look like purple martins to me. They are wonderful birds, laura. They eat lots of mosquitoes!
Oooo...that makes me want to find some more....heh heh.
It is a purple martin house, but not Purple Martins. Purple Martins go south in the winter. They would not be around snow. Also the holes are plugged awaiting Martins in the spring.
OK but I am still jealous of them.
You don't have to hate me because that isn't my house nor my purple martins! See we can still be friends.
They are purple martins and that is a purple martin house. I don't know about the holes, as I just took this as I was driving by...pausing in the middle of the road for a few seconds. No, no one was coming!
I hate you! I have tried for years to get Martins. Had a four decker house just like that and not a byrd in da place. I moved to other states and notin dare either. I want a refund on the bird houses. I still have the poles the house came with but the house has gone with the rust. You are soooo lucky LJ.
Are they a blue finch? If we have them, I never see them.
Hi laura ~ Are there holes for them to get inside? Also, do you know ID of birds?? I do not have them here. :( They are so beautiful!!
The occupants look content. :)
