You're welcome - there are LOTS of great memories popping up on Jigidi all the time! :)

Oh my goodness, these marbles are really very old, brings back such wonderful memories of my grandpa and great grandpa playing marbles with us when we were kids! Thanks so much for these lovely memories Rebecca, I hadn't thought about them in so very long! Big hugs dear!

Yes, about 6th grade (age 12) "autograph books" were big. I also had a stuffed dachshund dog that could be written on, but don't think I still have these - and we've moved several times since then, so I don't see those folks any more. A few years ago I discovered that my G'ma kept a log of when folks visited them in the 1960s. Most I knew (cousins, family friends for generations in their little town, etc.), and she would sometimes write where they went for the day, or if they brought their new baby, etc. When we started doing our family tree, I was much more interested to learn about the ancestors than just their names & dates. For instance, they must've had a good sense of humor because both my parents did; did they sing or play any musical instruments?; and did they l have any pets besides the farm animals? Of course these kinds of things are much more difficult to find, so I imagine things from their possessions that have come to me, like needlework & marbles. :) I also have both Grandmothers' hand written recipe collections, and one of GREAT G'ma's! I've made her marble cake many times. If we could go back in time, I'd love to spend the day with my Grandparents as children.

Wow....this is really a treasure Rebecca.....great puzzle too.

Have you ever as a young girl had a poetry book in which your friends and family wrote you a poem to remember them by?? Besides mine, I also have my Mum's childhood poetry book, she was born in 1923! I treasure it....
