EOD. Wow..........lots of danger there.

Did 27 years. Of that, 19 in the EOD community.

Rebb2 Interesting, we must have a similiar history if you were here on Whidbey to attend a shipmate's memorial.....perhaps, we brushed elbows at the service? I was a Navy wife for 32 years. AND (lol) July was the last time we saw rain until this past week! Most unusual!

Thanks again for the reply. Since I live in NW Nevada, I have the choice of Mexican or Basque Chorizo (correct spelling), but prefer the Basque type. Planning on this meal this weekend. On the lighter side...never been to Whibdey until a year ago July. Attended a very close shipmates memorial service there. It rained that Saturday morning for about two hours, and I just sat in my motel room enjoying the rain which we seldom get here in NV.

I am on Whidbey Island Washington State. :) Wish I could remember what the package said. Acutally I think any spicy type sausage would be as good. Kind of a take-off of Jimbalaya (spelling?).

Carol66...Thanks for what I thought was the make up of this great looking dish. I am going to try this, but my concern is the type of chirizo sausage that you use. If you're from the US, what part of the country are you from? There are several types of this sausage and it depends on area you are from that will probably make the difference in the taste. Of course a glass of wine, especially while preparing the dish.

Rebb2, my invention. Fry veggies (bell peppers and onion) and garlic in olive oil, throw in the chirizo (spelling?) and cook for a few minutes. Next add pre-cooked shrimp until they turn a nice pink. Finish with cherry tomatoes and simmer for a minute or two. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes and serve with rice. The cherry tomatoes came from my tiny garden and wow they were so sweet and just popped in your mouth! Good luck, do all to your own taste. Oh yes, don't forget a nice glass of wine! lol

If and when someone knows what this is and about how it is prepared, I would like to know. I can identify all the ingredients and have an idea how it is made, My mouth is watering as I write this thinking about it.
