Ardy - Sounds like you had someone like my mother! But, I can now icicle a tree with the best of 'em. Now, if only they made icicles like they used to! Thank you, Ardy!
Getting the decorations down from the attic is always a treat , and one I'm looking forward to tomorrow. The UK is due some foul weather coming over from Russia (they're calling it the Beast From the East!) so I can think of nothing nicer than staying in the warm and getting my home into the festive mood! I just need to keep that dog away from the baubles! :-))
A lovely memory Gmak. But I loved being able to help decorate the tree until it came to the icicles which one person insisted had to be done one at a time and hang neatly- not thrown at the tree. It was beautiful when she finished but I didn't enjoy that part as much. Thanks, Jan.
Gmak - you paint such a lovely picture with your words. what a delightful thing to wake up to a beautiful tree from Santa. I always loved that tradition and wished it had been ours! I can just feel the excitement and anticipation. Thank you for giving ME that wonderful image! :))
Wrapping paper and bulbs: the essence of Christmas color and glitter. Early memories still hold the image of those things and the tree on Christmas morn, having been brought and fully decorated by Santa on Christmas eve. A sight and a feeling not comparable to anything else. Thank you.
