Wow! What a beautiful old house. I will add this to my collection of buildings/houses picture puzzles!
warbler....most of the vineyards are gone...there are still some off to the right of the house...you can just barely make some of them out in this pic....I think less than two acres are left...
What an interesting house! Thanks for the history, too, samantha851. Are the vineyards out back?
Pumpkinhead, Beekay and 0829...thank you for your kind words...this house has a lot of history....my great-grandparents bought it in the late 1800's.....Great-grandpa died a month after they moved in...Great-grandma persevered and tended to the vineyards with the help of her young son...eventually re-marrying another vineyard owner. The present occupant is an elderly step-cousin a few times removed....I don't think she'll dress up for Halloween...but who knows...? We love visiting the place when we take trips to the East Coast...especially in the Fall!
I can just imagine little trick or treaters braving the long walk up to the door. I hope the owner opens the door dressed in costume...a witch or Dracular would be perfect.
What a terrific home! And located in the middle of all that wine country!
I love it. It is in a lovely setting. Thank you for sharing. . . Naoma
