CelesteH and photogent; thanks for stopping in. This was taken out on the top of the miles and miles long Walking Trail, non-motorized in all this area, lots of people use this for horses riding, there is a special area to park horse trailers. I always start at the top and hike down, if I can. This is such rough terrain there were lots of wagon tips/rolls; very hard on the animals.
The diagonal line from the left side to the right side in the middle of the photo is a walking trail where both the Oregon Trail and Emigrant Trail when through Idaho near Hagerman. This is going up Bell Rapids Grade; some of the wagon wheel ruts are still visible in the rocky areas.
