The carvings are large and displayed in the gardens and yes they are done by a local artist.

Went on line and saw that this is in Calgary, AB -- I have relatives there (I was born in Olds) so I may just have to visit to see the Gardens, too! Thanks for the postings.

Where are these gardens, please? I'd love visit there to see them all as this is a very powerful carving.
