This bird is not common in my area. They have been stopping at Rend Lake during migration for a couple years now, staying approx. 1 week. I was lucky enough to see them today. Hey are huge. They are 50" long with a 110" wingspan'

Thank you lyndee and PamCal for the comments.

These birds ARE enormous! They first time I saw one it was swooping down within about 10 feet of me. It looked 'prehistoric'!

Thank you Ank.

I bet it look huge when you saw it snooker.

No tripod warbler. Had to take the pic out the car window and they were really far away. I cropped this one to enlarge it for the puzzle.

warbler

Years ago my son came home from school at noon and said there was a big white bird on the sidewalk. We got out the bird book and he picked out a white pelican. Husband went down the street to look and sure enough it was. This was in the southern part of Manitoba - a long way from any coast.

Just perfect, he is beautiful and yes, very big. Thanks.
