Why are you reporting this puzzle?

this is the machine i use to cut and shape my stones usually into cabochons. the first two wheels on the left are for cutting/grinding your stone into its shape, the 3rd one is to get rid of all your grinding marks. the 3 wheels on the right are for sanding. once these have been done, the stone is ready for buffing to a polished shine ready to set!

THIS is the complicated process! This is where the rock becomes it's shape and smoothness. if i don't spend enough time on the last four wheels, my rocks won't shine worth...shall i say..shinola!? ;-} it's also the messiest part..my nails will never be what they were before i started with this hobby!! and I'm LOVING the rewards! I now have so many necklaces, rings, bracelets..i need more necks, wrists, and fingers! earrings are my next venture!

Wow! Looks a complicated process but the rewards must be immense.

Dilubreuer

Am from the Philippines and my hubby is a German, we live in the Philippines.

craswench

I'm from the usa. you and your mate?

Dilubreuer

Which country are you from craswench?

craswench

Dilubreuer, eventually when i get better i hope to sell my finished products! i just finished cutting and making some speckled paisleys! i think its dalmatian or spotted obsidian that i used. it wasnt easy getting that curve into the rock! I thank you for the insight to australian rocks! i'll so look into it!

Dilubreuer

Are you selling your finished product?

Dilubreuer

You are right! My Italian friend married to a Malaysian used to source out rocks from Australia and africa. He said it is cheaper in Australia and so many different kinds...

craswench

thanx Dilubreuer! At this point I have no source for stones. I am still using the bunches I received with the system from my mother, but am checking the web for the best prices for when I deplete my supply..any suggestions are welcome! You do mean buy my stones, not sell my finished product, right? ;-]

Dilubreuer

Interesting really... Am making them too but from ready made fancy stones...a friend from Malaysia did this before for a living...Where do you source out for stones?

craswench
