Hi, cilycoed! I hope you still will check this. I promised you some information and finally got it. Large formations like the one I posted (Courthouse Towers) ARE called "towers." Large, flat table-top formations are called "plateaus." the next size down are "mesas," and then smaller and narrower ones are "spires" or "pinnacles." That is about the best info I can come up with.

I enjoyed reading your bio info--sounds like you have and have had an interesting life! Wish I could really VISIT with you sometime--kind of hard on jigidi!

Yes, it looks so lovely, but I remember the other side of snow... wet clothes and cold toes, then the smell of drying woollies, ahhh them was the days!
