Love this one Rob, such pretty colors! The flower is quite stunning too, I don't think I've ever seen it in this color before! Great set of pics as always, thanks so much!

robryan

robryan

Thanks loveydear - glad you liked it.
Maybe...thanks warbler!
How do you encourage Starlings to stay Heidi?
They are a pretty pair - there was no ID of the paler, smaller beetle unfortunately. Thanks Meadowhawk.

Meadowhawk

Wow - what a beautiful pair of beetles - one almost pearlesque and the other so outrageously stunning. Love that bloom they are nestled in.

Surreal_Heidi

Zerelda.... You need to encourage starlings to spend time at your place. They're the only birds in the US that will eat Japanese Beetles.

warbler

I would think they could be used for currency, too, as well as jewlery. Nice Gum flower, too.

loveydear

What an awesome photo, great looking beetles and flowers!!!!!

robryan

These were used for jewelry in the early days pg - then plastic came along!! Thanks pg.

photogent

This could be a piece of jewelry. The Egyptians made these out of stones to hang around their necks. Lovely Rob.

robryan

Thanks zerelda - I've never had to battle with beetles eating my plants to destruction, but I can sympathise with you!! Any garden pest is a pain in the butt!

shirley68

Gorgeous coloured beetle, beautiful flowering gum, I've not seen one this colour, Thanks, Rob.

Because of my never ending battle with Japanese beetles over possession of my rose bushes, I am predisposed to dislike anything "beetle". However, I must admit this is one good looking bug. All the same, I sincerely hope it stays home and doesn't go globetrotting.

robryan

LOL!! Boa Trish? As in feather boa? My mind immediately flashed to Boa snake!! They've certainly got bling :))) Thanks!!
Thanks chickie.

chickiemama

They are both pretty against the lavendar flower. Thanks robryan.

trish505
