Thanks for the extra information Francine. I guess there must be some benefits to living in those areas or no one would move there ... maybe they want it to be a very quiet area. I don't really know.

bookish

If I understood correctly, it is an area for seniors. With co-op fees! (She had two huge dogs that she was obliged to leave behind. As fate worked out, within the last year before her move, both dogs died! Otherwise, they were being abandoned to two different neighbours. I felt sorry for her dogs.)

There is an area in eastern Ontario (Bainsville near Lancaster), 15 mins from Quebec border, that is also designated for seniors, and again with many restrictions and those co-op fees. I don't know how people accept restrictions.

Thank you for your note Francine. Yes, it is quite dry there so I can understand about the arthritis. The dog size restrictions are more difficult to understand!?!

bookish

I have a friend who moved to Osoyoos four years ago and absolutely loves it. Since then her arthritis doesn't both her much. She moved to an area that has many restrictions, including the allowable maximum size of pet dogs, even though the people own their houses.

Thanks Lorna! No we didn't. Driving from Kelowna south to Osoyoos was interesting and scenic but it didn't really get us much closer to Vancouver. So NOW the journey (4.5 - 5 hours) home begins!!

Thank you Brian. Glad you like the picture!! : )

Thank you Cathy for taking this picture and sharing.

Beekay

Well, I think you made someone happy and a little homesick Cathy! It is a nice town.

Osoyoos is such a small town in a beautiful part of BC, I am presently surprised to see this puzzle! I was born in Kamloops, raised on the Island & lived in Vancouver. I have been in Texas for many years, a bit of a culture shock! I get homesick seeing pictures from home. Happy Thanksgiving...

Lyndee, I think both Osoyoos and Oroville are small towns.

I had to look this up as I have some nieces that live in Washington not far from Canada.....but they live closer to the Idaho border south of Spokane.
