No gin tonic, now the Sauvignon would come in handy, after a long day on the river opening and closing locks, steering the boat, watching villages drift by, and now we sit on deck with a jacket or maybe even a blanket over our knees - the evenings on the water can be a tiny bit chilly - and we listen to the fish jumping in the water, perhaps a bit of classical music - maybe chat a bit about pleasant things that happened during the day - or just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet in amicable silence. :))))
- does it show that I could do with a short, or even better with a long holiday LOL
Aaah, gin and tonic hour after an exhausting day on the river, operating the locks, dozing in the sunshine, watching the herons and kingfishers and admiring the wonderful countryside. La vie est bon!
