Diana’s baths lie along Lucy Brook in Bartlett, NH. During the summer the baths are a great place for children and grown-ups alike to enjoy the tranquility of nature, and explore the many rocks, ledges, cascading falls and pools in the brook. The cascading falls measure Aprox. 75 feet in total height.
In the 1860’s, after building a house and barn on the banks of the brook, George Lucy built a water wheel powered sawmill. In the 1890’s George built a 12 room boarding house for tourists to visit the site. In the 1930’s Chester Lucy built a concrete dam with a water feed and turbine system to replace the water wheel used to power the sawmill.
Both the rooming house and sawmill were eventually sold to the US Government and have become part of the national Forrest land. Due to the deterioration, the buildings were eventually removed from the site in the 1960’s

Wow!! Suzy, this is a wonderful picture!!!

warbler

Nice! I bet this is gorgeous in the fall, too!

chickster

Oh boy! I really like this one!

Shian2

I can see why it's so popular, very picturesque, Thank you, Suzy.

I noticed all the "good spots" were on dry ground. A bit cold no doubt but certainly pretty.

lyndee

We could just clone them out of the picture!!!!

anezka

I like my ankles, this terrain I like just the at images, thank you Suzy. I like going in the woods, in moss and silence. ☺♥

pumpkinhead

Thank you Patti and Ginger! :)_
LOL, Oddman! That would clear them out faster then yelling "SHARK1"
There's lots of room at the "baths", Toto. It's the parking lot that can be an issue. And yes, the water (and the air) a mite cold),

Toto

I don't mind sharing this beautiful spot. Oooh, the water's a mite cold though.

oddio

Punkinhaid, put on a serious face and ask those strangers if their vaccinations are up-to-date; that can cause them to move out of the area.

cinderfire

Patti is so right, it is wonderful, we could all have fun tickling our toes in the water too. :O)))))) ♥

PLG1958

Now that is worth the trip!!!

pumpkinhead

Always a treat to take you lovely ladies on a walk! Thanks for coming along! Hope you have terrific days :)

SunnyBarb25

Wonderful place, thank you for bringing us here, Suzy :)))

smllpkg101

Yes, but it's still a beautiful spot.

goingsilver

What a beautiful spot! Shame the buildings couldn't have been restored.

pumpkinhead

You are quite welcome, Dilubreuer! We were exploring for about 30 minutes I think. It wasn't hot enough for us to put our toes in the water!
There's lots of room, Florrie! I was hoping we could find one "pool" for just the jigidiers!
Close your eyes and tap your heels, jbp! :) Thank you for stopping and taking the time to comment.

jbp

I want to go to there now. (thanks for posting!)

Dilubreuer

thanks for the info. PH...it is nice there...how long did you stay?
