It was interesting to watch Zawadi grow that mane. He just had peach fuzz when we got him! I got to watch the family together two days after they met. We are watching for mating behavior. He loves to groom them and they love to tease him. I saw one take a flying leap and land on dad's head and he ignored it. Then one cuddled up between the parents for a nap. ABC only showed part of the clip. There's always something to see on the zoo's Youtube channel. Just search Oregon Zoo. I get to watch them again next Saturday.

Meanwhile I have been taking shifts watching the river otters for weeks now because mom wouldn't let dad near the den and there has been lots of fighting. Yesterday they were all getting along fairly well and dad dragged the baby underwater and across the pond like mom does in swim lessons. The baby is 4 mos old today and can swim fine so it scared me. Keeper said he did it with the first baby too, so he's probably just trying to show mom he can take care of the baby.

I was going to leave you a comment (I haven't been on Jigidi in two days) when I got online, because I saw a video of them on ABC World News last night. Your photos are more descriptive. The ABC clip didn't show dad biting on the kids' heads. Dad has such a terrific mane. Have you seen them together yet?

She has her ears flattened in awe of the big guy. I think they all look like stuffed teddy bears.

But that looks like a dog and a lion!
