Thanks Li-I can now say, yes it does. I've only heard very little, Sandy. Thanks for the site.Another good point, Dondi--I wonder if it was added later for looks.
I'd also note (architecturally) that breaking the roof tree to install the cupola likely relates to why the ridge is sagging, even though the rest of the structure seems fine.
Dave, incase you didn't see this. Monica has had a really rough time.http://www.jigidi.com/puzzle.php?id=RGSI84LY
Very nice shot, Dave! It just looks like Iowa!
Thanks mountain, for stopping by.
Nice set tonight warbler
This one does-its just that funny little hat on its head....Thanks LJ
Barns definitely have faces! It looks like it's laughing!
Thanks dbnc. If you like them, be ready, I just took over 500 photos of old houses, barn, stores, schools, ect. and they are coming on four per day. Thanks. There were several of this style in Iowa and NONE next door in Missouri, whizbang. I'm not sure why the difference. I'm not sure why either, Dondi. The windows on the end are pretty high, too. I'll be posting a load of old buildings and impliments, too over the next while-I hope your around-I like you observations. Thanks.
This barn has a happy face. And yes, the cupola is a bit strange. As whizbang notes, it has a mini version of the barn roof - but I'm also puzzled as to its function. It's much higher than it needs to be to provide ventilation, and it doesn't seem to have any openings. A penthouse for the highest quality hay...?
The cupula is a riot! Immitates the barn roof!
i love old buildings
Well, well, Lyndee, Now you have me thinking....hmmm...Thanks Suzy, good to see you. Hey back, Sandy, there's lots of old ones in that part of the country, for sure. Thanks
