Thank you, Sis, Mimi & Shirley! We're pretty soaked but it's still raining. I made a grocery run in case my little street is closed off tomorrow, so I'm all set!
Thank you, Chickie & Jacques. Colorful, yes! GGL, I live right there on the lake, and the roads still wash out. Sometimes when it's raining hard (like right now), they close off Northwest Hwy, and my little street is the first to go. We're supposed to get about 4" today before it stops. We need it though.
During the middle 60's, my husband, my sons, and I lived in Greenville...about 50 miles from Dallas and I worked in Dallas at the time. That spring, it rained continually for about 8 weeks. Going into Dallas from Greenville, I had to pass White Rock Lake...and never knew if I would make it or not. One evening, not more than 10 minutes after I had gotten past, they had to shut the road down due to flooding. There were several cars that had been swept away trying to cross the flooded road..........I felt I was channeling Noah..LOL
