Yes, I've had lobster claw pastries--my husband is half Italian, and that's the side of the family he grew up with tradition/food-wise, so I've sampled many of their confections. I'd still rather have their pasta, though...! :-)))
To me it looks like an Italian pastry called a Lobster claw, Delicious layers and layers and layers of this buttery pastry filled with deli sh custard filling. Not a pi to me--has to be a pastry---so could be an oyster pi--or an English pasty, filled with beef and potatoes and onions and gravy. Now that would be good.
For those of us who aren't fond of sweets, but love oysters, oyster pie is a delicious treat, better than any fruit-filled pastry-type pie could be! I know I'm in the really teeny-tiny itsy-bitsy minority here, but I would so much rather have a bite of oyster pie, or chicken/beef pot pie, than any regular pie! But, of course, given my love for carbs (breads, pasta, rice, pretzels, chips, Cheetohs, French fries, crackers, corn chips...), I do VERY much love nibbling on the pie crust! :-)))
Hi Pat, I'm on your wavelengh today... I just commented about pi day on the plain version of this. Thanks for this delicious version - I'll have a slice of Key lime please!
Thanks, Ardy and Edie--I must have been subconsciously thinking about PI Day today when I decide to post this! It looks as if there's enough flavors to select from to satisfy most solvers. :-)))
