This is certainly a gorgeous photo Rob. I was reading that this is an adult female Indian Flower Mantis and is in a threat pose. They can lay up to 300 eggs in some type of foam cocoon. WATCH OUT CHOOKS!!! Thanks, fun puzzle.

Here I am rob!!! I have never heard of or seen this type of mantis. Only see the green ones around here also! Very colorful!!

chookie - I never even knew that they were so colourful until I found them in macro shots!! We only get boring green ones here. No offence taken :))) The claws!! The claws!! Look out for the claws chookie!!
