Why are you reporting this puzzle?

Many of you know that I fuse glass. I have been making Holiday ornaments for the last few weeks. These are some of them. Sorry for the dreadful photography, I hope you can get some sense of them. I also made the glass beads you see.

Thanks Michelle. If I ever have time, I will photo the many stockings I made. They were quite fun! Hugs to you, Sis!

Oh, how charming! I'm so glad to know that you've done these ornaments...I have a great weakness for hand made Christmas tree ornaments and glass art so this is a double whammy on the "Ooooo, me likes!" scale. To be able to pull them out, year after year, and have fresh memories. As you know, I do love my memory trees...

Great job, "sis"!

I'll bet you could bleach them, Edie, but with that kind of fragility, it may not be worth taking the chance.
I found out that some of my ornaments are too big for the tree. Sounds stupid, but we had gone "artificial" and you can use any size ornaments you want with those trees. Our fresh noble just lets them slide right off it they're too big! LOL Thanks.

Sunday morning and I'm using up my saved puzzles. These look like fun to make. I bought some very similar ones years ago at the One of a Kind Show in Toronto. I love having hand made ornaments. Still have at least a dozen tiny white crocheted angels both from my grandmother and mother but they turn brown with age and I'm not sure wether or not I can bleach them. Really pretty. Thanks Jan.

Thank you my dear! You are always so kind in your praise. I know these are amateurish compared to my plates and bowls. But, they were such fun to do and I now have them on my tree! I hope the photos will turn out. Hubby decided to go amber lights this year. Makes the ornaments hard to see in the dark......

I'm sorry I'm so late to this one Jan. This bug has really knocked me around. I wanted so much to solve this one to see your wonderful art. I love the ones with the dichroic glass through the middle and the one with all the round blobs of glass, in the bottom left. You really ARE an artist! Clever gal. :)))

JiggyBelleS

Magda, you are so welcome! Usually I am making, plates, platters, small bowls. So this is quite different for me. Thank YOU.

oldiepumpkin

A lovely hobby. You must have lots of fun creating these beauties. Thank you for sharing.

Rosie - thank you so very, very much! There is a story about the snowman you mentioned. When you are doing a "tack fuse" (so melted all the way together, so some relief is left), sometimes the parts can separate. So, this little guy's head separated. It was quite ghoulish until I fixed it! LOL

The stocking was an accident. I found a piece of white glass from a former project and it looked like a stocking to me....so it became one. The ones I PLANNED as stockings didn't turn out so well!

Sorry, Jan. My question has been answered. If I had read all of the comments before I jumped the gun I would not have had to ask. And I love the stocking and candy canes too.

roerick3

Oh, Jan, these are fabulous. I can see them glowing with the Christmas lights behind them on the tree. I love the little stars and the decorated green trees. Are these for gifts or do you hang them all on your tree? Thanks for showing us what has been keeping you so busy on the weekends. Now we know that your time away from Jigidi has been very well spent. I just noticed the snowman in the bottom right corner---he's adorable.

JiggyBelleS

Thanks so much, Hester. They were such fun to make! Even if they took forever and cooked forever! And, no, there will be only one (very tall) tree this year. We don't count the 2 small ones in the pots by the entrance! :-D)))

feistyfreddy

Jan, these are GREAT!! Those lollipop baubles top right, stripy trees, great candy canes and that fabulous blocked bauble in the bottom right....just faaaabulous, darlink! You will certainly have the most elegantly dressed tree in all of Oregon! Oops, sorry, trees plural!! ;-))

JiggyBelleS

Rebecca, thank you so very much. I like to have something home crafted on my tree, let's hope they all do, too.

Ardy - I can NOT believe that I didn't think of a bell! Drat! Can you believe that?
Thank you. and I am sorry! :)

ringleader

Jan, I love the candy canes and then the Christmas trees in the bottom right corner. That red star next to them is nice too. These are wonderful. I was hoping you would show us more of your work. Lucky recipients. Have you ever made bells? Thank you so much.

RebeccaB

You are very talented! These will be cherished heirlooms. Love the bright colors, thanks for sharing.

JiggyBelleS

Gmak - you have me very curious. Just which things does it explain? There are so many possibilities! :-D)))

JiggyBelleS

Jo70swen, here is a brief explanation. Fusing glass is when you take a flat sheet of glass, usually 3mm, and cut out shapes and designs. Then you layer your pieces and "cook" the designed item in a kiln. The firing (cooking) takes about 10 hours. Blowing is a lot harder and requires a "furnace" and a LOT of talent.
I am so happy you like them! Thank you!

aha! 'splains a lot.

I am so impressed with these and they make for a lovely puzzle. I must admit I don't know what fusing glass involves. Is it like blowing glass? Believe me if I still put up a Christmas tree I would ask to buy all of these.

JiggyBelleS

Thanks so much Katie, Jim, Lorna and Mandy. Clearly I am an amateur, but I sure had fun with these. They will be gifts on the front of packages and stocking stuffers. Hubby has picked the ones he likes for our own tree. I appreciate all your comments so much!

monza006

These are gorgeous Jan - thanks so much for sharing the results of your hard work with us :~)

goingsilver

They are lovely! I bet that if you sell them, they go like hot cakes!

buckeye425

These are absolutely delightful Jan! They'll look so pretty on some Christmas trees. Thanks for sharing! :>)
