A beautiful puzzle Chook. And I did read about the crabs. Nice Robbos did sent you. I hope you had a tasty dinner. But I think I can be sure you did.

What wonderful memories you have of your childhood, punkin! They're completely different to the ones I have of my childhood days - different countries and different lives!! My childhood days were spent down the beach, swimming, surfing, sunbaking and eyeing off the surf lifesavers! When you think of the fourth, will you let me know, you've now got me curious!!

pumpkinhead

First and foremost, this is a great puzzle. Just love the fishing shacks.
Secondly, I hope you enjoy your crabs a la robbos. What a fine lad to share with you!
Third....I loved ice fishing. We would go out with my dad, he would cut a hole in the ice and we would spend the day fishing and ice skating (well, my skates had double blades on them...kind of like training wheels on a bike). Caught many a dinner from under the ice!
Fourth....Well....I don't know what that was! :)

chookies

Well I certainly had you pegged all wrong, PG - sorry about that, mate! I used to fish off the jetty some years back and found it very relaxing but boring if the fish weren't biting!! I guess you've caught some big ones in your time!

chooks I love to fish and have fished from Florida to Alaska but do not much like freezing my butt off doing it.

chookies

Lyndee - I'm glad we got that sorted out with the help of gracie!! I wish you a beautiful dinner with your family and many happy returns of the day to you. It's been a lot fun talking to you and hope we can do it again soon!! LOL

Graciela

Poor lyndee! chookies in North America they are called crab legs.

lyndee

If crabs don't have legs chookies, what in the heck am I eating when I order crab legs. I eat the leg and when I get to the claw, I leave it on my plate....because it doesn't have enough meat in it for me to mess with!!!! And with that, enjoy your crab CLAWS. As for me, I'm leaving for the night to go to my daughter's for my Birthday dinner! And, we're not having crab legs nor crab claws! :)

chookies

In fact I think I might just go and give the moonshine a nudge or two, or three!!!!

chookies

Lyndee - crabs do not have LEGS!! They have CLAWS!! As for the eyes - they are removed as part of the cleaning process!! Oh boy, what yu hav' to put up with on jigidi!!! LOL

lyndee

Chookies, I really didn't need to know how they are cooked! I do love crab legs but I don't want any part of the body nor do I want any eyes looking up at me!!!!!!

chookies

These babies are called 'bluey's' when they come out the water, lyndee, (that's because they are blue in color) they're cooked in a large pot of sea water for so-many minutes or until they stop kicking - whichever comes first!!! They're red when cooked, bodies broken in half, cleaned and when cool - eaten....and at this time of the year they are large and sweet and full of meat....yummo the diddly-o!!!

lyndee

Shouldn't you cook those babies first Chooks?

chookies

They're coming to me already cleaned and washed, gracie so all I have to do is EAT them!!!

Graciela

Beautiful set chookies! crabs? lucky girl, enjoy!

chookies

Hey shirley - good to see you!! Talking about crabs, guess what I'll be eating for tea tonight? CRABS! Yee, Robbos has had a friend staying with him for a few days and he's sending, via his friend, a bucket full of crabs for me!! Think of me around 6pm tonight cracking claws!!!

lyndee

Love your personality Chooks.

chookies

...hey, don't forget the egg nog, lyndee - otherwise you've got me down to a tee!! Hee hee!!

Lovely picture chookies, I'm heading north in February for a spot of fishing and crabing, with my daughter and son-inlaw, just the opposite weather to this.

lyndee

Awwww! And then there's Chookies. Hmmmm. Loves sleigh rides, Loves moonshine, loves her grandson.........and gets bored easily! How's that?????

chookies

I'm starting to get to know my jigidi friends!! Here's PG, he doesn't sound very interested in fishing at all! Well, Bookish has tried to fish once but it didn't interest her so she went on to bigger and better things! Now snooker, well she's a fisher-person from way back and has pulled some big ones in, in her time - and then there's little lyndee standing there eating snow but can't handle the cold!!!

lyndee

When our girls were small, we used to go out on the frozen lake. They would ice skate while my husband and I fish through a hole in the ice. It was fun. Now I'm older, don't think I could handle the cold so much!

snooker

We did a lot of spearing through the ice for northerns. Biggest I got was 17lbs. Had a stove in the fish house for heating food and warming cold hands and feet. Lots of fun.

bookish

These are much more attractive than the utilitarian ones around here.
PG - you wouldn't believe the number of shacks. I tried it once; was cold and bored.

photogent

Who wants to fish in this weather?
