Thank you for the additional information. When I looked at the picture and the title it didn't quite make sense because of the rapids that you see. But the person who posted this didn't say much about the photo.
This is Half Dome in Yosemite, and it's actually a river. This scene is one of the favorites in Yosemite; this photographer has been creative by choosing a low angle, and it's probably spring, since the river has more water in it than I usually see.
