What a delight! I've never seen this painting before. And I agree with you both about how fun it is that she's having fun while being painted. Merci beaucoup, Mme Pat.
Sneaky, cheeky devil. But here's the thing, Maggie. I think he got, or Madame got, that material on sale - and that sale was still running ten years ago when I bought some at an outdoor market in France to bring home to sew up a long tablecloth for my dining room! I swear it's the same stuff!
Pat, it is only dark when you are doing it - on completion it lights up. I think she is sewing and she is certainly smiling which is nice in the concept of her getting the giggles while her husband paints her!
