This is our first mature coconut from these trees which were planted almost 20 years ago. You can see a couple of small nuts behind it on the right. No carrot here and NO I did not stick it up there with with super glue!!

Robbiel

Oh hush.......BIG EARS!!!!!

lelabugosi

(they were probably carrots)........

Robbiel

Me too Celeste, thanks Hee-Hee!!

I'm glad you sorted that out BJ! Yes when I was in Jamaica with the Bermuda Regiment we were in the Blue Mountains for ten days. Along the way we met some locals who offered us green coconuts which they expertly hacked the tops off with machetes and we drank coconut water with Appleton Rum!! Always kept a stash of rum for emergencies!! Delicious! Thanks.

bradjan

the person who thought this was a carrot, got hit on the head by the coconut above. have you ever poke a hole in the coconut and drink the milk?

CelesteH

Im just gonna giggle...

Robbiel

Hee-Hee-Hee!!!

Plumpossum

David, please take two aspirin and lie down until you recover. And by the way, Dimons grow at JP Morgan Chase.

Robbiel

David.............OH!.............This is not a thank you...

Way to go PD! Sounds good, thanks.

"I?ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts
Every ball you throw will make me rich
There stands my wife, the idol of me life
Singing roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch."

Had to Google it, because that's the way I remember it--turns out I know the second stanza and not the first...!

Love it love it...

Robbiel

Hi PnB, you're welcome and thanks.

I hope so bean, will wait a while more, thanks.

Good for you Jana, thanks.

I agree with you Shirley, get shipwrecked down south, they grow quicker, thanks.

Thank you too Hanne, so true!

Elfie

Coconut/carrot, anyway the fruit doesn't mind what it's called. But usually I would call it a coconut too!! Thanks so very much Robbie!!

shirley68

If I get shipwrecked on a lonley Island with a coconut tree, I'd hope the coconut tree would be a mature one, I don't think I could wait 20 years for one to produce a coconut.

Janazlouky

Thank you Robbie, I've never seen it, yet something in his old age learn :-))

fatbean

can you eat it mate?

pinknblack

Thank you for sharing this interesting picture.

Robbiel

Thanks Jacques, yours too mate, thanks.

Now wouldn't that be fun David? I might try that coconut stew, but make some changes. Add chicken and use stock not water, sounds good, thanks mate.

david06520

Dimons and Roobies grow in the ground, too. Might be I find some in the carrot patch one day...

jacquescamus

great set today Robbie,
thanks!

Robbiel

Hi granny, we crossed, well I really like you and Lela knows it, he is pulling all the stops for his argument. You have a wonderful imagination, thanks.

Hi Ardy, well thank you, of course we can see it is a coconut and carrots grow in the ground!! I am trying to educate, but I am sure you know there will always be some poor soul who just cannot understand facts!! Thanks for your support.

Hey Dobbiel!.............that's a big belly...................are you going to pop tonight?......

Dobbiel

Hey Robbiel!......That's a big carrot.......are you making stew tonight?.......

ringleader

Robbie, Of course that's a coconut. Normal carrots don't grow on trees. (In Hawaii I did see pineapples growing in trees but that's a different ocean.) Oh well, all you can do is try to educate. Thanks for trying.

Robbiel

Well Big Ears Bugosi, you certainly can produce a whole lot of drivel quickly, I hope someone pops those silly looking pink balloons of yours!!! I left my reply, I must say that I am impressed at how quick you produced your outlandish LIE!!!!!!!

Hi Mimi, they usually don't mature enough here to use. However rob mentioned that they can be quite nice green, so I will check it out if it grows larger, thanks.

Thank you David, now I will be humming two songs for the next couple of days!!

They were started from planting nuts Francine, coconut palms grow slowly especially here where the climate is cooler than down south. You believe that big-eared phony??!! I'm surprised!!! (Hee-Hee)

sweetlittleoldgranny

Oh yes.....most certainly a green CARROT!.....

bookish

Twenty years!!!!!
Okay, lela has convinced me.

david06520

Yes we haz no bernanaz
We haz no bernanaz terday...

mipahollo1

Now Snooker, I'll be singing that for days! But it's OK, I always kind of liked that song. And I am so proud that you got a real coconut Robbie. Can you make anything edible with it?

Robbiel

Hi Nana, my dad planted them and evey year so far storms have knocked the young ones off or they have not matured. This is a first, so hoping it will grow larger, thanks.

Fank oo Dawid!!

Oh shucks, we were all waiting PKH, thanks!

Me too chickie, thanks.

Yes I suppose he and the missus will think up some silly fruit or veg for this one rob!! Thanks.

Hey a very good one snooker, Merv Griffin, Danny Kaye and Monty Python are some artists who sang this ALMOST as good as you!! Thanks.

snooker

I?ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts
There they are, all standing in a row
Big ones, small ones, some as big as your head
Give them a twist a flick of the wrist
That?s what the showman said

robryan

If lela thought this looked like a carrot maybe he needs to eat a few more carrots to improve his eyesight!!

chickiemama

Well, I'm sure glad you clarified that!

pumpkinhead

Being a lady, I will refrain from the comments that this puzzles screams for me to make!
suffice it to say, you have presented us with a puzzle of fine nuts. I will not mention the carrot or sticking things.

david06520

Issa very nice pikcha.

Nanax4

LOL! I would have sworn that is a carrot!
I'm impressed, Robbie! Your own coconut tree! You are a patient man to wait 20 years for it.
