Treasures... the quilts help us treasure the memory of the people who made them. And I know exactly what you mean, Lulu, about unconditional love. I have passed my father's unconditional love for me to my children. It is truly a gift to have someone like that in our lives.
Sweet stories, Lulu and Fodus!
Quartina, it's fun to see all the patterns that have been designed over the years. My grandson took a quilt to school last week as his "heritage artifact" that his great, great grandmother had made when she was a young girl. He's ten and already treasures the quilt his "GG" made. His teacher enjoyed hearing about the quilt, but was quite amazed at his "sensibility and sensivity" while giving his report. The things memories are made of...I feel very fortunate to be able to pass on my grandmother's unconditional love for me to my grandchildren...
My mom made one of these for her 'hope chest'. She didn't put it on her bed until the later days. One of my sis'es has it.
